Because of transformation. The arising from beginningless samsara is the meaning of what is called the doctrine. The height of the three realms is because the view of the perishable aggregates pervades the three realms. The pervasion of all directions is because the view of the perishable aggregates is established in all directions. In order to show that just as Mount Meru arises from a golden ground, so it is, it is said that it arises from the golden ground of ignorance. Ignorance itself is the golden ground, and because it arises from it, it is said so. The view of the perishable aggregates arises from ignorance. What are called the highest peaks, etc., are the twenty aspects. It should be known that those are the peaks, such as form is self, etc. Therefore, in order to prevent the nominally existent self that is not different from the aggregates established by the learned, and then to prevent the substantially existent self, it is said now, etc. Among them, the first to show the previous view is: Some say, that is the same, that is different, etc. Among them, some, is a characteristic of the learned. That is the same, that is different, permanent and impermanent, etc., are inexpressible, because in the aggregates, for the views of different and non-different entities, the previously stated faults will arise, so different and non-different entities are inexpressible. Similarly, because it will fall into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, permanent and impermanent are also inexpressible. The word "etc." includes the Lokayatas. Substantially existent means existent in the ultimate sense. They consider it to be the object of the six consciousnesses. What is called "that" is the self. In order to show it through commentary, it is said, "Among them, for a while," etc. Among them, from "that" to "inexpressible," it shows that different and non-different entities, and permanent and impermanent are inexpressible. In order to show that it is substantially existent, it is said, "That person," etc. Among them, in order to say the agent and the profound, what is called "that" means "I am the agent of karma."

And it is for the sake of saying that it is the enjoyer of the fruit itself. Because it is related to samsara and nirvana, bondage and liberation, it should be added that it exists. Among them, samsara is going from one place to another. Nirvana is not going from one place to another, but refers to nirvana without remainder. Bondage refers to afflictions such as desire. Liberation refers to being separated from these. Thus, in order to first explain the former view and then explain the answer, it is said, "This statement is also," etc. The so-called "This statement is also" means saying that I exist in the form of a substance. The so-called "For what reason," etc., means that if it exists in the form of a substance, it is not unspeakable. Why? It is said, "The real is unspeakable, not for the sake of enlightenment." Whatever exists in the form of a substance is not unspeakable, because if it exists as a thing, it will not go beyond itself and things that are different from it. If the existing thing is unspeakable, then the mind will also become unspeakable. In order to illustrate by example and then combine it with meaning, it is said, "If," etc. If some self exists in the form of a substance, it will not become unspeakable, but will become speakable like the mind. Because I am unspeakable, it does not exist in the form of a substance. In order to explain the linguistic meaning of this verse, it is said, "Therefore," etc. The so-called "For what reason," etc., is because if the limbs of the pot, etc., are not established, it will become unspeakable, being neither the same nor different from form, etc. Therefore, this self is also not a real thing because it is unspeakable. In order to explain this, it is said, "Which self," etc. Do not think that which self has become an unspeakable self that is neither the same nor different from the aggregates, is established by itself. However, it exists only in a nominal way. In order to clarify this through explanation, it is said, "Pot, etc.," etc. The so-called "Neither the same nor different, unspeakable" means if the pot is related to form, etc.
