etc. This sutra states that there is a person who acts as the agent, so it should be understood that the previous sutras did not completely prohibit the agent in all aspects. In order to point out other faults in the school that considers the aggregates to be the self, it says "Furthermore," etc. Because the Thuba said that the self is nominally imputed in dependence on the six elements of earth, water, fire, wind, consciousness, and space, therefore, the self is not other than the six elements, because it is nominally imputed in dependence, just like form, etc. This is the meaning of what is thought. If the sutra says that the aggregates are dependent, therefore it says, "The collection of aggregates is not the self." Since this meaning has already been stated before, why is it repeated again? Answer: Indeed, but in order to dispel the doubt that some people with low intelligence think that the collection of aggregates is not the self, then will the elements, etc., be the self? Therefore, it is said again, in order to eliminate the self-grasping that takes the elements, etc., as objects. The so-called six bases of contact, such as the eye, refer to contact that arises from the six sense sources. The sutra says that the six, such as the eye, are the bases of contact, and these, such as the eye, are also not other than the self. The objects of the mind are the nature of mind and mental factors, because they are dharmas, so the dharma mind and mental factors are the nature of the objects of the mind, and the self is nominally imputed in dependence on them, therefore the mind and mental factors are also not other than the self, the reason is the same as before. If it is thought that it is not admitted that it is other than the elements, etc., even so, the collection of elements, etc., is the self, in order to answer this, it says, "It is not merely a collection," meaning that, according to the previously stated reasoning, the collection of elements, etc., is not the self. Therefore, "The thought of self-grasping is not on them," meaning that, because the elements, etc., are not the self, and their collection is also not, therefore, it is not reasonable to generate the thought of self-grasping on the elements, etc. In order to clarify it with commentary, it says, "In that sutra."

Etc. It is said that. The so-called "Purusha Pudgala this" and so on, Purusha is the self. It is called Pudgala because it goes back and forth and accepts it. The so-called "Great King" is a Tibetan word. The so-called "Six Realms" and so on, means that Purusha and Pudgala are shown based on the six realms. The so-called "Six Sense Spheres of Contact" and so on, is because it is established based on the eyes and so on. The so-called "Eighteen Mental Operations" and so on, is because it is established based on the eighteen mental operations. These eighteen will be explained by the commentators later. They are called mental operations because they rely on the mind, and the mind enjoys objects such as pleasure. Others say that because the mind enjoys objects, it is called mental operation, because under the control of feeling, the mind repeatedly enjoys objects. In order to show the six realms, "those" etc. are said. In order to rely on the basis of contact, "eyes" etc. are said. In order to show the eighteen mental operations, "mental operations" etc. are said, the mental operation of pleasure is divided into six types according to the difference of focusing on form etc., similarly, the mental operation of displeasure is also the same, and the mental operation of equanimity is also the same, so the mental operation becomes eighteen types. The explanation of "relying on them" is that if you approach and hold the mind and mental factors etc. The so-called "as said Dharma" etc., are the six realms etc. Now, in order to show the necessity of preventing the self of Pudgala, "when" etc. are said. The so-called "aggregates etc. are also not the object of ego-grasping" etc., is because the aggregates etc. have not been established as the self by the reason mentioned earlier. The so-called "not an existence different from the aggregates etc." etc., is because it is prevented by the reason that "except for the aggregates etc., that grasping is not established". My things are also not meaningful.
