In order to explain through interpretation, the Blessed One said, "Self is one's own protector," etc., meaning that the self is the one who leads the mind into the actions that lead to happiness, so it is the protector, because it brings benefit. "Self is also one's own enemy," meaning that it leads the mind into the actions that lead to bad migrations. "For good and bad deeds, self is one's own master," meaning that for the good and bad deeds that are done, the self is the master, because it is the one who experiences them. In order to dispel the doubts of others, it is said, "If," etc., meaning that the collection and the one with the collection are not different, because there is no collection that is different from the five aggregates of form, etc. "Fruit," etc., meaning that the statement "The collection is me" is used to show that the collection is me, and showing that I am the fruit of that statement. Moreover, since a collection is impossible, each aggregate belongs to me, because I am real, so it is reasonable for me to be a protector, a tamer, and a master. In order to answer this, it is said, "This is also not established," etc., meaning that the fault has already been stated, meaning that for the view that each aggregate is me, if you think the aggregates are me, etc., because the fault has already been pointed out before, this view is unreasonable. In order to point out other faults, it is said, "Furthermore," etc., meaning that if you say that the collection of aggregates is me, meaning that if you understand the self as having a collection, then at that time, when you say that the collection of limbs is a chariot, because you understand the chariot as having limbs, then the limbs of the chariot that are piled up without being made into the shape of a chariot will also become a chariot. In order to explain the reason for this, it is said, "Its limb collection," because it is a limb of the chariot. "The chariot and I are the same," meaning that just as the wheel, etc., rely on the collection of limbs of the chariot and are called a chariot, so too, relying on the aggregates is merely labeled as me.

Yes. In order to explain it through commentary, the sutra also says "If one clings to the word 'I'," and so on. "If one clings to the word 'I'," means if one thinks "there is an I." "That is the aspect of your demonic view," means if you think "there is an I," then that is the aspect of a demonic view. Why? The sutra says, "This aggregate is empty." Because the aggregates of form, etc., that is, the collection, is emptiness. Therefore, the sutra says, "In this, there is no sentient being." Because the collection of aggregates is empty, there is no basis for a sentient being, so how could there be a sentient being? If there is no sentient being, then how is the term "I" used? The answer to this is, the sutra says, "How," and so on. Just as relying on the parts of a chariot, it is called a chariot, similarly, relying on the aggregates of form, etc., it is called a sentient being. Therefore, even if selflessness is ascertained, there is only a nominally existent sentient being. Furthermore, in order to point out another fault in the collection of aggregates being the self, the sutra says, "If that is so," and so on. "If that is so," just as the sutra says in the manner of "Similarly, relying on the aggregates, it is called a conventional sentient being," the self is nominally established relying on the aggregates. Therefore, the mere collection of aggregates is not the self. In order to explain how the mere collection of aggregates is not the self, the sutra says, "Relying on what," and so on. Relying on the generalities of the aggregates, etc., at the time of nominally establishing the I, etc., even if the generality is the cause of the nominal establishment, it is not the I. In order to explain the reason for this, it is said, "Because it is nominally established relying on." Because it is nominally established relying on the collection of aggregates, etc. In order to explain the example of this, it is said, "Like that which has transformed from the elements." Just as relying on the elements, it is nominally established as having transformed from the elements, but the elements themselves are not that which has transformed from the elements, because that which has transformed from the elements would also necessarily be tangible. Similarly, here also.
