It will not turn into dust. In order to show that afflictions and so on are the cause of the view of the assembly of destruction, the source of the sutra should be shown. It is said that "all afflictions are," and so on. Here, for "the root of the view of the assembly of destruction," and so on, it should be known that the latter is the explanation of the former. "In order for formations to be manifested," and so on, is in order for desire and so on to be manifested. "Without exception" means afflictions and faults. "Comprehending the non-self of self" and so on means comprehending the emptiness of self. "Self" is the explanation of "what," which means not knowing "what that self is." In order to show the nature of the self that is imputed by others, it is said, "For this, for a while," and so on. "Permanent and real" means that it does not change at any time. "Not the agent" means that in the manner that will be explained, the self and so on are acknowledged as the agent. "Profound" means enjoying objects closely. "Without qualities" means without qualities that are the nature of pleasure, pain, and ignorance. "Without action" means that because it pervades everything, it does not have the nature of going to other objects. "Relying on slight differences" means having qualities and having actions, and so on. The commentary will clearly explain these. "System" means establishment. In order to show the establishment of the self by the Samkhyas, it is said, "For this, the Samkhyas," and so on. In "fundamental nature," saying fundamental means that it has no other cause, so this itself is the cause of everything. "Not dependent on change" means that it is not dependent on change, so it is permanent. "The seven great ones and so on are the nature of change," in which the sound of great means wisdom. Therefore, wisdom, pride, sound, touch, taste, form, and smell, these seven are the nature because they produce other fruits, and the nature produces these.

English
Because it is a transformation, it is also called change. The sixteen are transformations, meaning speech, hands, feet, buttocks, and genitals, which are the five faculties of action; and ears, skin, eyes, tongue, and nose, which are the five faculties of intelligence; and space, wind, fire, water, and earth, which are the five great elements; and mind, these sixteen are only transformations, not nature itself, because they are the fruit of others, and this is the cause of others. The purusha is not nature, nor is it a transformation, meaning that because it is not the doer and is permanent, it cannot be transformed by others. In order to show it with commentary, therefore, it is said "thereupon" etc. Because it is extremely capable of creating, it is said to be nature, meaning that it produces the fruit. At the time of seeing the desire of the purusha, meaning that when the purusha's desire for the object arises, in order to show it, it is said "at what time" etc. The "etc." in "sound etc." should include touch etc. Nature and purusha combine, meaning that they combine like a cripple and a blind man, just as a cripple cannot walk by himself, and a blind man cannot see, therefore, he cannot do things alone, so the two combine to do things like walking, the purusha urges nature, and then nature produces objects such as sound. For this, the rule is like this, meaning that for this, the order of production is like this. In order to show it, it is said "from nature" etc. "Great" means that it is intelligence, because "this is a pot, this is felt" etc., it has the characteristic of determining the object. From that arises ego, meaning that ego arises from the great, and that is also the characteristic of being regarded as having a self-part etc. From that arises the collection of sixteen, meaning that from that ego arises the collection of five faculties of action, five faculties of intelligence, five tanmatras, and mind, these sixteen.

The mind has the characteristic of pervasive thought. For example, a Brahmin child hears that there is a feast in another village and thinks, "I will go there." This is a kind of thought. Is there brown sugar and yogurt there? Or only yogurt? This mind, which has the characteristic of pervasive thought, is the mind. "From the five, the five elements arise," this is a brief explanation. To explain this in detail, it is said, "Sound, etc." From sound arises space, from touch arises wind, from form arises fire, from taste arises water, and from smell arises earth. Just like that, from the five, five forms arise. In order to explain the meaning of nature, transformation and non-transformation, etc., are mentioned. "It is only the agent," this refers to only being able to produce results such as the great. "It is not the transformer," this refers to not relying on transformation because it is constant. "Relying on its own transformation," this refers to relying on the transformation of ego, etc. "Nature transforms by relying," this refers to transforming by it, because it can be transformed by it. "The root of wisdom, etc.," through the word "etc.," includes the five roots of action, the five great elements, and the mind. "It is only the transformer," this refers to not being the cause of other things. Therefore, the tone of "na" etc. is mentioned. "Purusha, etc.," because it is not the cause of other things and is constant. Through this sequence, that is, from nature arises the great, etc. "The collection of transformations" refers to the great, etc. If someone asks, "How does Purusha become the enjoyer?" Therefore, it is said, "Having arisen desire, etc." In order to answer this, it is said, "Ear, etc.," meaning through the blessing of the mind, that is, the mind blesses, saying, "May you understand sound, etc." "Completely grasping" refers to only taking as an object through the way of entering through the ear, etc. "Wisdom clings" refers to "This is sound, etc."
