To say "this itself is without dispute" means that if there is a dispute like that regarding form and so on, then there will be no dispute for us, because we do not accept that there is self-nature in conventional truth. In order to show this, it is said "how" and so on. Self-nature is not artificial and does not depend on others, therefore, in terms of conventional and ultimate truth, self-nature should not arise, therefore it is only the same as the son of a barren woman and so on. Because it is so, "at that time" means that there is no self-nature arising in either conventional or ultimate truth. "Peaceful" means that it is the object of non-conceptual wisdom. "Unborn" means that it is without birth. "Self-nature completely liberated from sorrow" means that it has no self-nature from the beginning. "Always" means in the states of conventional and ultimate truth. To show the source of the scripture, it is said "the scripture says" and so on. "The Dharma was taught by you, Protector," means, alas! Protector, you said this kind of Dharma aspect at the time of turning the wheel. "Even if it arises later, it will not change," means that it does not arise through the means of momentary continuity. The others are easy to understand. If pots and so on do not arise by self-nature in conventional truth, then how do they appear? Because of appearance, self-nature arises in conventional truth, then ultimate truth should also exist, to dispel this doubt, the answer is: "To one's own party" and so on. "This itself is not a refutation," means that the refutation just presented is unreasonable. "They" means one's own party, that is, the Madhyamikas. "As it exists in the world's well-known," means that pots and so on arise only as well-known in the world. "Likewise" means that all things that operate only through being well-known in the world will arise. "It will not be wrong to be the same as the son of a barren woman," means the same as the son of a barren woman.

Therefore, the situation of not appearing will not occur. The meaning of this is that we are not saying that self-nature arises merely from the perspective of appearance. However, if not examined, how can things truly exist in the way that is pleasing and well-known in the world? Therefore, even if there is no arising from the ultimate truth, what fault is there in appearing as things by arising in the worldly conventional truth that is pleasing if not examined? The son of a barren woman, etc., is not established to arise even in the worldly conventional truth, so it does not appear. Furthermore, others point out the fault of being similar to the son of a barren woman, saying "If, suppose," etc. The term "touchable, etc." includes self-awareness. The so-called "basis of imputation" refers to a pot and consciousness becoming the basis of imputation. The so-called "having a cause" refers to having a basis such as earth. The so-called "everything is only imputation" means that because there is no entity, it is only imputation. The so-called "basis of examination" refers to earth, etc. The so-called "fault of being similar to the son of a barren woman" means that if the son of a barren woman has no cause for imputation, so the son of a barren woman is not imputed, similarly, there will be no cause for imputation in pots, etc. In order to answer this, it is said, "That is unreasonable," etc. The meaning of "because it cannot be established as substantial" is, is it to establish that the cause of imputation in pots, etc., is substantially existent? Or is it established as existent? If you want to establish substantial existence, then the answer is "because it cannot be established as substantial." In order to show how it cannot be established as substantial, it is said, "As it is said," etc. In the Four Hundred Verses, it says, "Except for form, etc." etc., just as a pot different from form, etc., is not established, similarly, the form, etc., which is the cause of imputing a pot, is not a reason different from the four great elements of wind, etc., because it would become without a cause.
