Earth, etc. Regarding the order of the two truths, this refers to the fact that in conventional truth, if mind exists, then form must also exist; and if form exists, then mind also exists. But in ultimate truth, neither has inherent existence. "Having destroyed" means that if one asserts that mind is substantially existent, then this order of the two truths is destroyed; this is a concluding statement. "Your substance will not be established by negation" means that mind-only, which abandons form and has a nature of other-dependence, cannot be established as substantially existent. Why? The answer to that is that the word "negation" is mentioned because the establishment as substance has already been negated by "not arising from self," etc. In order to explain and clarify this, it is said, "Because of the absence of form," etc., meaning that effort will become meaningless, referring to the effort made to prove that mind is substantially existent becoming meaningless. In order to clarify the conclusion, it is said, "Therefore," etc., meaning according to such an order, referring to the order previously explained. "That itself is unborn" means that in relation to the wisdom of the noble ones, if it is unborn, this is the meaning. "Worldly born intelligence" means that in relation to the world, it is born; this is the meaning. Again, in order to show contradiction with other scriptures, it is said, "What is said here," etc., meaning the meaning of this sutra, referring to the meaning of the sutra "The three realms are mind-only." Although it is explained in this way, it is for the purpose of negating other agents and for the purpose of showing that the Mind-Only school is the most important. Quoting the actual scripture, it is said, "As it is said," etc., "External appearances do not exist," which means that whatever appearances such as form are, they do not exist externally, but are not different from consciousness. "Mind is the appearance of variety itself" means that mind itself appears in various forms. In order to explain this, it is said, "Body," etc., where body refers to the sense bases such as the eye, because they are gathered into the body. Enjoyment refers to form, etc., because it is to be enjoyed. Place refers to the container world.

Hey! Because sentient beings dwell there. Body and enjoyment, as well as places, whatever appears to the mind, it should be called that. Mind-only means that external bodies and so on are empty. In order to be explained by the commentary, it is said "there" and so on. The so-called "appearing as an external object" refers to the attachment to what appears to be grasped. In order to avoid the fault of contradicting the scriptures, it is said "this sutra also". The so-called "this also" refers to "external appearance" and so on. The so-called "intentional" means indirect meaning. The so-called "from which sutra" and so on are repetitions of the contradiction with the scriptures themselves. The so-called "its intention is this" refers to what will be explained. In order to show that itself, it is said "in form" and so on. The so-called "very attached" refers to present attachment. The so-called "to them" refers to those who are presently attached to form. The so-called "stopping form" means stopping form. The so-called "that also" refers to that sutra also. The meaning of this is that in order to eliminate the present attachment to form of those who are presently attached to form, form is stopped, but it is not to show that only consciousness exists as a substance after form is eliminated. Therefore, it is said "indirect meaning". In order to be explained by the commentary, it is said "there" and so on. The so-called "with great hope" means with present attachment. The so-called "having its cause" means having the cause of present attachment to form. The so-called "following desire" refers to desire. The so-called "anger" refers to being angry at the present attachment to the form of a woman, etc., and then to the present attachment of others to that itself. Thinking of being superior with a special form is pride. The word "etc." should include jealousy, etc. The so-called "entering involuntarily" means that the entry of the mind depends on desire, etc. The so-called "with that present attachment" means with present attachment to form, etc. The so-called "great sin" refers to the ten paths of non-virtuous actions, etc. Merit and wisdom
