"Unchanging" means knowledge and meaning. "If" and so on, is to welcome the doubts of others, because the things of cause and effect exist. "Because the things of cause and effect exist" means that the previous and subsequent moments exist in the things of cause and effect themselves. "This reason" means "because of others." "The things of cause and effect" and so on, the word "etc." should also include "because it is other, just like the knowledge belonging to other continuums." "According to your view, how" means that if, because it is different from me, the knowledge of memory should not recall the knowledge that has not been experienced, then according to your wishes, how should it be said? In order to answer this question, it is said "should be said" and so on. "Who experiences the object" means, by whom does the blue knowledge experience the object? "This memory is not other, I do not have" means that the knowledge of the object is not other memory knowledge. "Therefore, I think of seeing, remembrance arises" means that because from the memory of experience, the knowledge of memory is not other, so when the knowledge of experience experiences something, the knowledge of memory also experiences something, so I will think of seeing, remembrance will arise. If knowledge is momentary and there is no self-awareness, then how can I remember thinking I saw? The answer to this is: "This is also the rule of worldly convention." Because worldly convention has no opportunity for examination, it must be admitted in the way it exists in the world. Therefore, even if worldly people do not have self-awareness, they will say I think of seeing, because they are attached to the knowledge of experience as one, so there is no fault. The meaning of this sentence is that if the knowledge of experience and memory are different, then just like the knowledge belonging to other continuums, it should not be remembered. If, considering worldly people, the knowledge of experience and memory are not different, then what the knowledge of experience sees, the memory will also see, so I

Therefore, the thought "I see" arises. Therefore, recollection does not become the result of self-awareness. Furthermore, worldly people do not express themselves through self-awareness, but rather through experiencing objects. Therefore, as far as worldly people are concerned, self-awareness is not established through recollection. In order to explain this, it is said, "Who experiences the object," and so on. As such, it has already been said before, just as "for the sake of others, it arises from a continuum that has never arisen." This reasoning can destroy all differences. "Recollection and object arise in conjunction" means that the consciousness of recollection experiencing is combined with the object of experience. In order to show the conclusion, it is said, "For what reason," and so on. Since the experience and the consciousness of recollection are not different, why would there be self-awareness through recollection that arises from something other than the consciousness of experience? "You will be controlled by others" means that since your school does not have self-awareness, by what other will it be controlled? Having thus shown that self-awareness cannot be established through recollection, in order to show that it is also unreasonable from the aspect of the nature of self-awareness, it is said, "From the agent," and so on. Here, self-awareness is self-knowing, and if it is admitted to be self, then it is admitted that self is the agent, and since self is to be known, it is also admitted that self is the object. Furthermore, since the word "knowing" is also not different, it is not reasonable for the agent, the action, and the object to be one, because arising and not arising and not arising from one are contradictory dharmas. Therefore, it is said, "It is not reasonable for it to grasp itself." In order to explain this, it is said, "I know myself," and so on. "It itself is also the agent" means that self is the agent. "Its" means of self. "Object" means having the nature of experience. "These are not seen as one" means...

“Devadatta reaps with a sickle,” etc., here, because the agent, action, and deed are seen as distinct. In order to indicate the source of the sutra, it is said, “Also in the Holy Lankavatara Sutra,” etc. Just as the edge of a sword does not cut itself, and just as a finger does not touch itself, so too, the mind does not recognize its own nature. Therefore, for other-dependence, there is no valid cognition to establish it, and there is harm, therefore the existence of other-dependence is not established. If there is no valid cognition to establish it, and there is valid cognition to harm it, but one still accepts other-dependence, then at that time, in order to point out the fault, it is said, “Therefore, thus,” etc. “The nature of not knowing” indicates that there is no establisher. “Unborn and” indicates that, by “not from self,” etc., because birth is not established, it indicates that there is harm. “If other-dependent entity exists,” this says that if the nature of other-dependence, which is the nature of the appearance of blue, etc., exists. “What harm does a stone woman’s son do to others?” The Mind-Only proponents say, what harm does a stone woman’s son do to others? That too must be accepted as existing. “By what?” This says by harm. “This” refers to the son of a barren woman. In order to be indicated by the commentary, it is said, “By other conditions,” etc. What was said above was a general indication, “not from self.”
