and various consciousnesses, the nose consciousness with camphor and other fragrances as its object, the tongue consciousness with salt and other tastes as its object, and the body consciousness with the touch of clothes and other things as its object. In order to experience, how can consciousnesses arise simultaneously? In order to answer this, it is said, "Consciousness is like a lotus," etc., meaning that the consciousnesses that arise in sequence appear as if they arise simultaneously, and the sentences should be connected in this way. Why? Because "entering quickly," meaning that the various consciousnesses enter quickly. How quickly? It is said, "Like piercing a hundred lotus petals," meaning that just as a needle pierces a hundred lotus petals in sequence, but it is like piercing them simultaneously, so here too, consciousnesses appear as if they enter simultaneously, but consciousnesses do not enter simultaneously. Therefore, the experience of other consciousnesses is unreasonable. Experience itself is also unreasonable, because it would become without memory. Therefore, in order to explain that self-awareness must be admitted, it is said, "Therefore, without interruption," etc., meaning that the reason for saying "therefore" is that consciousnesses do not enter simultaneously. If that is the case, it means that after admitting self-awareness. "Having the object of both" refers to consciousness and the object of consciousness. "The aspect of memory having the object of both" refers to the thought "I have seen." In order to explain this in detail, it is said, "The nature of consciousness," etc., meaning that "its object" refers to the object of the nature of consciousness. In order to explain the conclusion, it is said, "Therefore," etc., meaning that from the thought "I have seen," later the consciousness of memory arises, and thus it is determined that the consciousness of experience has arisen. What is the consciousness of experience like? It is said, "Experience the self of oneself and the self of the object," meaning what is the nature of experiencing oneself and others. What else is different? For whom, later the memory having the object of both arises

It is said that the word "va" refers to the memory of one's own and others' realms arising from the knowledge of experiencing one's own and others' self-nature. "If there is self-experience" means if there is self-awareness. "Because there is the power of others" means that the dominion of others is established through self-awareness. "This is an approximate indication" means that it indicates that what is realized to exist through the dominion of others is self-awareness, in order to answer this. It is also said that "that is not reasonable," etc. "That is not reasonable" means that it is not reasonable for self-awareness to have the dominion of others. In order to indicate the unreasonableness itself, it is said, "By itself, that," etc., meaning that self-awareness does not establish the dominion of others. In order to meet the doubts of others, it is said, "If," etc., meaning that if one thinks that later memory is the establishment of oneself. In order to answer this, it is said, "Not established," etc. In this regard, with the reasoning of "temporarily not from oneself," etc., because self-awareness and memory are not established, it is not reasonable to posit the unestablished memory as the means of establishment in order to establish self-awareness. In worldly language, it is also contradictory to act on self-awareness, because self-awareness is not established, so memory, which is the reason for one's own unestablishment, is also not established, therefore memory cannot establish self-awareness, this is the concluding word. In order to indicate it through explanation, it is said, "To this, if," etc. "From the point of view of establishing substance" means from the point of view of establishing ultimate self-awareness as substance, or from the point of view of establishing ultimate memory as substance. "If one says that" means if one says that it is established from later memory. "At that time" refers to the aspect of establishing substance. "Memory is impossible" is only an approximate representation, because self-awareness itself is also impossible. Therefore, with the unestablished memory
