Its discipline is the discipline of each individual. Because it cannot be distinguished by desires that crave beyond it, and desires that delight in the future, and desires that cling to the present, it is a flawless discipline. Because it does not practice all downfalls, it is non-declining. Because it does not break any precepts, it is not inferior. Because it is not mixed with non-virtue, it is unmixed. Because it is not fully committed for the sake of worldly enjoyment, it is unpolluted. Discipline endowed with such qualities is encompassed by the path of accumulation. Regarding this, the teacher Hero said: Whatever is restrained by body, speech, and mind, in short, is said to be discipline here. Abiding in this, for the benefit of beings, a special intention will have results. Thus it is said. This shows discipline as an accumulation for enlightenment. To counteract the approaching harm of conceptualization, it indicates the gate of concealing the senses such as the eyes. To counteract an unsuitable basis, it is moderation in eating. Thus, if one eats little, the basis is weakened and without vitality; if one eats too much, then faults such as sleep are universally practiced, and the basis is unsuitable. Therefore, to counteract the harm of an unsuitable basis, it indicates moderation in eating. To counteract non-exertion, it indicates not sleeping in the upper and lower parts of the night. To counteract the approaching harm of regret, it indicates abiding in mindfulness. Regarding this, when first generating the mind, one meditates on mindfulness, second one practices right exertion, and third is the basis of miraculous power. That is, abiding near by the power of memory, so it is mindfulness, or abiding near by this memory, so it is mindfulness. Regarding this, there are five categories of mindfulness: object, nature, companion, practice, and the fruit of practice. Among these, the objects are body, feeling, mind, and dharma. Why are there four categories of objects? The answer is, because the inverted foolish children, by the nature of the mind, rely on the basis of the body with self and senses, and enjoy pleasure and so on, and are pervaded by dharmas such as desire.

Therefore, one should think separately: to be purified from afflictions and dharmas such as faith. Therefore, first, one should know that in order to fully enjoy the body as the object of my causes, the feeling as the object to be enjoyed by me, the mind's own nature as myself, and the dharma of the object of my afflictions and purification, four objects are established. There are two entities: wisdom and mindfulness. Friends are the mental factors such as mind and feeling that are in accordance with wisdom and mindfulness. Among them, meditation is to contemplate the body on the inner body, to contemplate the body on the outer body, and to contemplate the body on the inner and outer body. Similarly, it should also be applied to feelings and so on. Among them, what is the inner body? Whatever belongs to the inner self's form sense base, namely the sense organs of eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body, whatever is included in the inner self's sense base, and belongs to the category of sentient beings. What is the outer body? Whatever is the outer form sense base, namely form, sound, smell, taste, and touch, whatever is included in the outer sense base, and does not belong to the category of sentient beings. What is the inner and outer self's body? Whatever is the outer sense base related to the inner sense base's self, namely the basis of the sense organs, because it is related to the inner sense base's self, it belongs to the category of sentient beings, and because it is the object of other sense organs, it is included in the outer sense base. Furthermore, the inner self's form sense base belonging to other continuums, namely the sense organs such as the eye, are also forms belonging to the inner and outer self, in relation to one's own continuum it is inner, and in relation to other continuums it is outer form. What is contemplating the body? It is to equally observe the body of the image of discrimination and the form body of self-nature. Following the sight of the body of the image of discrimination, one ascertains the form body of self-nature, which is the nature of wisdom.

Emptiness by emptiness, whatever is seen, that is the definition. What is inner feeling? It is the feeling that arises dependent on the inner body, that is, arising dependent on or focused on the inner self's eye and other sense bases. What is outer feeling? It is the feeling that arises dependent on the outer body, that is, arising focused on outer forms and so on. What is inner and outer feeling? It is the feeling that arises dependent on the inner and outer body, that is, the feeling that arises focused on the basis of the senses that exist in one's own continuum, and the eye and so on that exist in the continuum of others. Observing the contemplation of feelings is seeing whatever is empty with the nature of wisdom. What is the inner self's mind? It is the mind that arises dependent on or focused on the inner self's eye and so on. What is the outer self's mind? It is the mind that arises focused on the outer sense bases such as forms. What is the inner and outer mind? It is the mind that arises focused on the basis of the senses belonging to one's own continuum, and the senses belonging to the continuum of others. Observing the contemplation of the mind is seeing whatever is empty with the wisdom nature of emptiness. What is the inner self's dharma? It is the perception and so on that arises dependent on or focused on the inner self's eye and so on. What is the outer self's dharma? It is the perception and so on that arises dependent on outer forms and so on. What is the inner and outer dharma? It is the perception and so on that arises focused on the basis of the senses belonging to one's own continuum, and the senses existing in the continuum of others. Observing the contemplation of dharmas is seeing whatever dharma is empty with the wisdom nature of emptiness. Furthermore, meditation is the meditation of desire, diligence, effort, joy, non-weariness, non-retreat, mindfulness, awareness, and vigilance. Among these, to counteract the near affliction of non-attention, one meditates on desire, that is, by establishing mindfulness of the diligence of intention, thinking "I shall do this," non-attention does not enter. To counteract the near affliction of laziness,
