It is said to be like a corpse, because it is practiced without essence, therefore it is empty. If it is said that the three realms are merely imputed, and there is no entity of inherent existence, etc., that negation of entities is said with the intention of negating the entities of the grasper and the grasped on the dependent, therefore there is no contradiction with the scriptures. If you say so, in order to answer that, it is said, "One does not exist in one," etc. That is, in the dependent, one does not exist, that is, there is no entity with the characteristics of grasper and grasped. If they say that these are the entities of emptiness that do not exist, that is also unreasonable. In order to show the unreasonableness through the way of scripture, it is said, "Great Wisdom," etc. "The worst of all" means the worst among all, because it does not turn back the entities that have become the seeds of samsara and the discriminations of non-entities. In order to show that the emptiness of "one does not exist in one" contradicts reason, it is said, "Because a cow is not a horse," etc. For example, when it is said, "A cow is not a horse," it is established that a cow is not a horse, but a cow does not become not a horse, because the inherent existence of a cow exists. Similarly, by negating the grasper and the grasped on the dependent, since the inherent existence of the dependent exists, it is not established that entities do not exist. It should be said, etc. Through the words "etc.," if the inherent existence of consciousness can be established, then at that time, the emptiness of "one does not exist in one" is reasonable for entities to have no inherent existence. However, "not from self, not from other," etc., because the inherent existence of entities is negated, it is not under the control of others, therefore how can it be said that the entities of the emptiness of "one does not exist in one" do not exist? It should be said like that. In order to show the unreasonableness again through the way of scripture, it is said, "Similarly," etc. "There" refers to the occasion of explaining emptiness. "Entering the senses and entering the realm of phenomena" means realizing that the senses are empty.

Through this means, all dharmas are realized as emptiness. Therefore, in order to show the entry into the faculties, it is taught, "The twenty-two faculties," etc. Among these, "The twenty-two faculties" is the general exposition. "The eye faculty," etc., is the detailed exposition. The subtle particles of form, which are the basis of the five consciousnesses such as eye consciousness, should be understood as the five faculties such as the eye faculty. The immediately preceding moment of the past when the six consciousnesses have ceased is the mind faculty. The component of the faculty in the region of the genitals is the female faculty and the male faculty. That which is the cause of the abiding of warmth and consciousness is the life faculty. The feeling that accords with the five consciousnesses and from the third dhyana onwards with the mind consciousness is the pleasure faculty. The feeling that harms the five consciousnesses is the suffering faculty. The feeling that accords with the mind consciousness in the desire realm other than the third dhyana, and in accordance with the first and second dhyanas, is the mental pleasure faculty, because there is no mental pleasure faculty elsewhere. The feeling that is discordant and accords with the mind consciousness is the displeasure faculty. The feeling that accords with the five consciousnesses and with the mind consciousness, which is neither pleasure nor suffering, is the equanimity faculty. Believing in the truth, the Three Jewels, karma, and its result is the faith faculty. Rejoicing in virtuous actions is the effort faculty. Not forgetting the object is the mindfulness faculty. One-pointedness of mind is the samadhi faculty. Discriminating dharmas is the wisdom faculty. The four faculties of mind, mental pleasure, suffering, and equanimity of the path of seeing, and the five faculties of faith, etc., are the faculties of the unknown to be known, because the unknown to be known of the path of seeing enters, therefore these nine faculties in the path of cultivation are
