It is said that the word "only" means that it exists only nominally, but not ultimately, and this is called the object to be examined. The Mind-Only School says that the collection of discriminations in the form of grasping and being grasped is called the object to be examined. That cause is the basis, that is, other-powered. If there is no characteristic of appearing blue, what will the collection of discriminations of grasping and being grasped depend on? Therefore, other-powered exists, that is its definition. This shows the existence of other-powered. Saying "External objects will arise without existence" means that the nature of other-powered, in the manner previously shown, will arise without external blue, etc. This shows that the nature of other-powered, even without knowable objects, arises from its own habitual tendencies. Saying "Existence and all elaborations are not objects, self-nature exists" means that other-powered is not the nature of the object of all discriminations. Because, whatever all discriminations examine, that is grasping and being grasped. But for other-powered of non-dual self-nature, the nature of grasping and being grasped does not exist. Therefore, all elaborations are not objects. This shows that other-powered is not the object of all elaborations. In order to show it with explanation, it is said "other-powered" etc. Among them, "not dependent" means not dependent on the rope. "If there is no external object" means if there is no external object such as blue etc. that is different from consciousness. "What kind of reason will it become" means if other-powered does not exist, then why will the discrimination of blue etc. become a reason? "Because it is the cause of pervasive defilement and pervasive purification" means that because it is the basis of discrimination, it is the cause of pervasive defilement; because it is the basis of inverted discrimination, it is the cause of pervasive purification. "Emptiness will also be well understood" means that emptiness, like impermanence, is a dharma, so for dharma, it is necessary to admit that there is also a subject of dharma, therefore emptiness also

It is necessary to acknowledge the dependent origination. Therefore, when dependent origination exists, when emptiness is realized, emptiness can become a true Dharma. This is the conclusion. In order to point out the scriptural basis for this matter, therefore, it is said, "Because of what," and so on. Because of what, what is absent in what, and so on, because it is said that one enters emptiness without inversion, therefore emptiness will also be well understood. This is the conclusion. "What is absent" refers to dependent origination. "What is absent" refers to the nature of the apprehended and the apprehender. "That" refers to dependent origination. "By" refers to the nature of the apprehended and the apprehender. "Truly seeing accordingly" refers to the yogi. "Whatever remains in this way" refers to the wisdom that is empty of the apprehended and the apprehender. "Here" refers to the state of ultimate truth. "This is entering emptiness without inversion" refers to understanding the essence of the Dharma of emptiness as it truly is. In order to point out the reason why it is not the object of all elaboration, it is said, "That," and so on. "That" refers to the nature of dependence. Because expression is the expression of the imputed aspect of the apprehended and the apprehender, and dependent origination is the nature of non-duality, therefore it is not the object of expression. "Therefore," it is said, "As long as there is expression," and so on. In order to point out the conclusion, it is said, "Therefore, in short," and so on. "Here" refers to the verses. If it is said that the cause of what is considered to be real is also said to be the fourth meaning, then how is it said to be three? The answer to this is that it is said, "Imputed," and so on. Because it is established from existence itself, it means that because dependent origination exists, it is the cause of the imputed apprehended and apprehender, and in order to understand this, it is not explained separately. In order to point out the answer to this, it is said, "This should be explained," and so on.
