Because what is called permanence is existence. Whatever exists should not be fabricated, because it does not depend on causes. Even if one has not committed virtuous or non-virtuous actions, ripening will occur for worldly beings, so even if one has not acted, one will experience the result. If your school also asserts that because there is no birth, there is a result, then why would one not experience the result even without acting? Because I say in worldly terms that whatever actions are done and then destroyed, if analyzed, because there is no birth or destruction, it is said that a result arises from that. But in worldly terms, one does not experience a result without acting. Therefore, there is no fault. In order to show the scriptural source for the fact that actions are not wasted in the ultimate sense, the sutra also says, "The lifespan of humans is one hundred years," etc., meaning that the lifespan of humans is one hundred years, and because cause and effect do not correspond, time is not established, so one should not think that a year with the nature of one hundred years is a collection of aggregates. What is called "this establishment also" refers to the aggregates of a person, which are characterized by the five aggregates, are also the same as this, meaning that they are emptiness. This shows that because the nature is emptiness, there is no birth. In order to show that it is inexhaustible, it is said, "It is inexhaustible," etc., meaning that what I have said about actions being inexhaustible and exhaustible, from the point of view of emptiness, it is inexhaustible, but from the point of view of convention, it is said to be exhaustible. What is called "the meaning as explained" is the nature of the explanation of actions and results. What is called "even when awake" refers to the state of being awake. What is called "without inherent existence" refers to the ultimate sense. What is called "cessation" refers to worldly terms. In order to prove this meaning, one should cite the source of the sutra. As it is said in the Sutra of the Transference of Existence, "The beautiful woman of the region" refers to the most beautiful among those who exist in the region. What is called "not existing" is because of what? It is said, "Because it is invisible," meaning that if analyzed, it is because it is invisible. What is called "poverty" is

It is the nature of mental discomfort. "Fatigue" means having physical suffering. "Being near the time of death and opportunity" means at the time of death. "When the karma of the same share as that awakens" means that whatever being is born, the karma of the same retribution as that awakens. For example, like "waking up from sleep," etc., just as a woman seen in a dream no longer exists when awakened, but still becomes the cause of arising memories, so karma, from the ultimate point of view, will not be destroyed; from the conventional point of view, although it has been destroyed, it appears in the mind as the cause of producing fruit. This is its concluding remark. "Having the same share as that" means conforming to experiencing the ripening result. Among them, "there is no Dharma that transfers from this world to the other world" means having the characteristics of self, etc. The rest is easy to understand. This shows that although karma has ceased, it will not be in vain. In order to eliminate the doubts of others, it is said "If so," etc. "Not born of self-nature" refers to karma. "From the already made ripening result," etc., means that from the karma that has already produced the ripening result, the ripening result will still be produced, so it will become the fault of being endless. Why? Because "it has no end." Although the ripening result has been experienced, that karma will not be exhausted. In order to answer this, it is said "That is not," etc. "That" refers to the fault of being endless. In order to show that, it is said "How," etc. For example, for a person with cataracts, although it is the same as having no external objects, they can still see hairs, etc., but rabbit horns, etc., cannot be seen. Therefore, it is said "Like the appearance of non-different objects." Thus, after showing the metaphor, in order to show its meaning, it is said "Thus, after ripening, know that it does not ripen again." That is, just as although it is the same as having nothing, not everything is invisible, so at the time of ripening and not ripening, the karma of
