Because they observe in a way that is without an object of focus. The statement "those who are not noble ones are not" means that ordinary individuals are valid cognizers. Therefore, since only those who are superior in contemplating reality are valid cognizers, worldly individuals cannot harm their sphere of activity. This is the concluding statement. If one wishes to assert that the world harms reality itself and accepts the world as a valid cognizer, then in order to answer that, it is stated, "If that is so," and so forth. If one accepts that the world itself is a valid cognizer of reality, then worldly individuals will see reality. The meaning of this is that if one becomes non-deceptive here, one becomes a valid cognizer. Non-deception is also the reason for fully knowing the way things truly exist. And that knowing is also the knowing of things that are free from existence and non-existence, that is what it means. Therefore, worldly individuals will see reality.

For the noble person. That which is the object, called the object of the nature of things. That, called the noble person. To that, called the one with the nature of things. In the words "to the precious jewel," etc., the word "etc." includes cloths, etc. To realize the noble path, is to realize the path of seeing. Morality, listening, thinking, meditation, etc., are spoken of in the manner of "one who abides in morality, possesses listening and thinking, should diligently apply himself to meditation." The word "etc." includes giving, etc. It is not so, meaning that it is not the case that seeing that with the eyes, etc., there is no need for the noble path. Therefore, it is because it is not only seeing this world. At that time, it is at the time of that suchness, because it is not an object of experience, it should not be a valid means of cognition. Therefore, at the time of suchness, because it is not a worldly object, there will be no harm from the world, just as a person with cataracts does not harm the consciousness without cataracts. The way this has been explained means that from the fact that the noble ones are not needed, and that seeing suchness with the eyes, etc., shows that there is no need for the noble path. Having thus shown that at the time of suchness, since the world is not a valid means of cognition, there will be no harm from the world, in order to show the difference in the object of harm from the world, he said, "Then how?" etc. If at the time of suchness, the world does not harm, then to whom will the world harm? In order to answer this, he said, "Explanation," etc. The meaning of the world is what is understood by worldly people. By the fame of the world, it is by the meaning that is called in the world. In order to give an example of this, he said, "For example," etc. Here, the meaning understood by the world is the pot seen upon awakening from sleep. That in a dream.

For example, taking the vase that has become an object of consciousness as an example, when someone refutes that the vase in the waking state does not exist, this will be harmed by the mundane. Because the mundane understands the vase seen in the waking state as true, and the one seen in the dream state as untrue. How can one say that the vase seen in the waking state is not true? For example, someone without cataracts sees coral and other objects without hair, while someone with cataracts sees coral and other objects with hair, this does not cause harm, but if it is understood as true, it will cause harm, and it is the same here. Therefore, understanding the vase as true in the waking state eliminates the possibility of the vase not existing, so it will be harmed by the mundane. Such terms as "knowable object" and so on, can be summarized by statements such as "this gold is not real, because it can be measured, just like gold in a dream." The so-called "when abiding in the vision of the noble ones" means if one accepts the vision of the noble ones, it is relying on the vision of the noble ones. The so-called "when the wise person is taken as a standard" means when one accepts the noble person as a standard. The so-called "there is no mundane harm" is like what is seen by someone without cataracts and what is seen by someone with cataracts, there is no mundane harm. The so-called "in this way" refers to the reasoning that prevents arising from others, which does not lead to mundane harm. The so-called "it should also be further examined" means that one does not see oneself, and also does not see others. For example, just like a vase, the eye also does not see form, because it does not see itself. To this, some say that because the mundane believes that the eye can see other things, the mundane's belief in seeing other things can eliminate the obstruction to the eye seeing other things. To this, one should answer as stated before, that the obstruction to the eye seeing other things depends on the vision of the noble ones. To this, one should also use the way stated before, that is, the mundane saying.
