The term "at" is the seventh of "at" and so on. "When it is the basis, at that time it is" means that the word for the seventh case is intended to indicate the basis for causes and so on. The meaning of this is that there are two meanings of the seventh case: to indicate existence if it exists, and the meaning of a support. The explanation in terms of the first is as before. The explanation in terms of the support is as follows. An example of the first is that if a vase exists, then cloth exists. An example of the first is like a spindle and juniper. "Also without" means that if the fruit does not exist as being dependent on causes and so on. "From those" means from causes and so on. "Even from non-causes, the fruit, why would it not arise?" This means that for non-causes, it is also the same in being non-existent. What is said? This is from the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way. The teacher himself means the teacher Nagarjuna. In order to establish otherness by another, it is said here, and so on. Likewise, when the seed is ceasing, the sprout will arise, which means that since the seed tending towards cessation and the sprout tending towards arising are simultaneous, otherness is established. In order to show that, it is said, "Just at what time," and so on. Seed ceasing means destruction. Sprout arising means arising. "Because the two are simultaneous" means because destruction and arising are simultaneous. Therefore, it means that just at the time when the seed ceases, at that very time the sprout arises. Seeds and sprouts also become simultaneous, which means that seeds ceasing and sprouts arising are simultaneous. Therefore, only otherness exists. That is shown by the example of blue, how it is said, and so on. Not being simultaneous means that the two negative words are used to understand the meaning of the occasion.

It is said that it becomes simultaneous. The question "Are the arising and ceasing transformations of what is to be produced and what produces?" means that the example of the balance scale shows that destruction and arising are simultaneous, so the seed that is decaying and the sprout that is growing are simultaneous. The phrase "Therefore, there is no fault" means that because the seed and the sprout are simultaneous, there will be no fault in saying that they are not other entities. In order to answer this question, it is said, "Even so," etc. The phrase "If it is one time" means that if the seed and the sprout are at one time, they acknowledge that they are simultaneous in the way that arising and destruction are simultaneous. The phrase "Is that not there?" means simultaneous. The phrase "Here" means in the case of the seed and the sprout. The phrase "There is no simultaneity" means because the seed and the sprout are not simultaneous. In order to show this, it is said, "If by the example of the balance," etc., which is easy to understand. In order to show that simultaneity is not reasonable, it is said, "How can it not be?" etc. The meaning here is that it is not reasonable for the sprout that is growing and the seed that is decaying to be simultaneous, because what is directed towards arising is called growing, and what has not arisen means the future. What is directed towards decay is called decaying, and what has not decayed means the present. Therefore, how can the present and future of existence and non-existence be simultaneous? Therefore, it is not the same as the example of the balance. In order to meet other doubts, it is said, "Phenomena, etc." The phrase "Phenomena, etc., are not simultaneous, but" means that the seed and the sprout that are decaying and growing are not simultaneous, but are the characteristics of their actions, that is, destruction and arising, not simultaneous? In order to answer this question, it is said, "That is also not possible," etc. The phrase "Different from phenomena" refers to the seed and the sprout that are decaying and growing.

English

It is different from those. Thus, having admitted that action is possible, after pointing out the faults, in order to show that now action itself is also impossible, he spoke of "furthermore" etc. Among them, "its agent is the sprout" means that because the sprout arises, the sprout is the agent, just like Devadatta walking. "If it is not there" means the sprout is not there. "Without a basis" means without a sprout. "This is not existent" refers to the act of arising. "If" etc. are verses from the Root Wisdom. "The basis is the same" means that the meaning expressed by the sound of a thing is also expressed by the words "that itself," so the objects expressed by the sound are the same. "If not" means if the characteristic of the agent, the difference of the thing, is non-existent. The sound of "what" should be combined with the sound of "will arise," meaning "what will arise." In order to show that this meaning contradicts the scriptures, he spoke of "if like a balance beam" etc., which is easy to understand. In order to answer that, he spoke of "although the approximate establishment is true" etc. "That is not to show birth from another" means that if analyzed, birth from another is not established. "Nor is it to show the birth of its own nature" means that it is also not to show the birth of a thing with ultimate nature, because cause and effect are unreasonable, so in the ultimate, things are non-existent. "Without investigation" means that just as even though illusory elephants etc. do not exist, worldly people are attached to the appearance of elephants etc., similarly, even though the simultaneous arising of seeds and sprouts is non-existent, if one relies on the attachment to the appearance of the extremely famous, uninvestigated, delightful, simultaneous dependence for worldly people, then there is no fault in quoting the previous example from the Rice Seedling Sutra. "As it is said" etc. is from the praise by the noble Nagarjuna.
