That which is called "is" is also a seed. That which is called "that" is what the world calls it. Because of seeing the fruit, it is called "not seeing the fruit," which means seeing that it does not contain the fruit. That they are one means that the seed and the sprout are indeed one. Now, in order to show the conclusion, it is said, "Why?" and so on. According to both sides, that is, according to both the philosophical schools and the worldly schools. That is why, no matter what the reason, it is not reasonable for self-origination to occur according to both sides. The so-called "not making a distinction" means that the ultimate truth does not make a distinction. The so-called "making a distinction" means that in order to prevent self-origination, the distinction of the ultimate truth is acknowledged. That the distinction of the ultimate truth is meaningless means that no matter what the reason, both sides should not self-originate, so what is the need to make a distinction in the ultimate truth? In order to further point out the faults of self-origination, it is said, "Furthermore," and so on. If self-origination is accepted, then the object to be produced, the producer, the agent, and the action will become one. Among them, if the object to be produced and the producer become one, then it is like father and son. If the action and the agent become one, then it is like fire and firewood. Here, the burning firewood is the action, and the fire is the agent. If it is said that because it is the state of being born, the object to be produced and the producer become one, then how will the agent and the action become? Because firewood is not the fruit of fire. It is not so, because the agent and the action themselves are the aspect of cause and effect. Thus, fire is only the cause of the combustible firewood, because its power causes the firewood to be born as something special. If the object to be produced and the producer are one, then what is the fault? The answer is: because it will lead to the fault of extensive explanation, it is said, "Therefore," and so on. Because the faults of shape and color, etc., which were previously mentioned, will also be established here, it should be accepted as one.

It is not that. Like "as it is said," etc., from the Root Wisdom. The so-called "whenever" is any time. That is just a promise, and in order to show it with reason, it is said, "Oneness does not exist," etc. If it becomes one, what is the problem? "Fathers and sons," etc., are mentioned. The so-called "because of that" is because cause and effect can be unified with reason. If that wood is fire, "wood" refers to things that can be burned, etc., which have become actions. The agent is the burning fire. If the wood is fully understood as fire, then the agent and the action will become one. But that is not the case. Otherwise, the vase and the potter would also become one. Because they do not admit that, it is said to be from the Root Wisdom itself. Therefore, "like that," etc., is a summary. The sound of "etc." should be understood as the previously shown shape, etc. In order to know the two truths, namely the ultimate truth and the conventional truth. To prevent arising from oneself, others will refute: Is the certainty that things do not arise from themselves produced by valid cognition? Or is it produced by non-valid cognition? If they think it is produced by valid cognition, then what is valid cognition? What characteristics does it have? What object does it have? Does it arise from itself, or from others, or from both, or from no cause? These must be stated. If it is said to be produced by non-valid cognition, that is also unreasonable. Because the understanding of what is to be measured depends on valid cognition. If something not previously understood does not have valid cognition, it cannot be understood. Because without valid cognition, meaning cannot be understood, then where does your correct certainty come from? Therefore, it is not reasonable to say that things are not produced. Or, where does your certainty that things are not produced come from? That same thing will establish for us that all things exist. How do you think that all things are not produced?
