Regarding the statement that the characteristics of "I," "experience," and "grasping at signs," etc., are not the reason for the ultimate truth, it is said that one wants to show that the name and the nature are not established, so one speaks of "the nature is established from the name," etc. The intention is this: Because, whatever is the establisher, if it ascends to the top of its own established mansion, it can establish other unestablished things. However, if this is shown as the establisher to establish that all things have the nature of arising, then the name and the nature are not established. For example, for the time being, there is no other thing that transcends the name and the nature. If it is other, then how can these things be "those things"? If one thinks that there is another connection, and also admits that this meaning is other, then how can they be related? If one also thinks in this way, thinking that only that exists, then because there is no end, one will fall into the fault of not being able to understand. Those are also not established from themselves. Because: The name is established from the nature, the nature is established from the name, and it should be connected in this way. Because, whatever expresses the name is the nature, but the nature does not express the name as the name itself. Therefore, the nature does not express the name as the name itself. Thus, temporarily relying on the name, the nature can be established. The name also depends on the nature to be established. For example, whatever is expressed by the nature is the name. However, expressing it with such a nature does not express the name as the name itself. Therefore, they are not established from themselves. If it is said that even though they are not established from themselves, they are established from mutual dependence, then it is said, "One cannot be established from the other." Because: Unestablished, unestablished, is the cause of establishment. Because, if they depend on each other, wanting to make both of them established, then neither will be established. Therefore, the unestablished name is not the establisher of the unestablished nature, and the unestablished nature is not the establisher of the unestablished name. Therefore, why...

The substance and characteristics of the earth element are also not established. If one thinks about what will become of that and says it is not established, etc., it should also be refuted in order to apply (these statements) to the meaning of the present context. Therefore, the meaning is this: whatever unestablished substance and characteristics there are, it is not the case that it produces a definite cause that possesses unestablished arising. This reasoning, regarding cause and effect, etc., and other things as well, in order to prove that things possess arising, those (statements) that others have wrongly applied as the cause of establishment, in order to show that they themselves are not established, in order to show the comparison with others, it is said, "By this, cause and effect, etc." Among them, for the time being, cause and effect themselves are not external to the things that are manifestly considered as cause and effect, because it is difficult to avoid the fault of infinite regress. Those things themselves are also not established from themselves, because becoming a cause comes from the effect, and the effect also comes from the cause. Whatever produces the effect is called the cause, but if the effect is not recognized as the effect itself, then it is also not possible to recognize the cause itself. Similarly, the effect to be produced by the cause comes from the effect, but if the cause is not approximately shown as the cause itself, then it is also not possible to completely determine the effect as the effect itself. If it is said that by recognizing concomitance and contradiction, one can recognize the cause-and-effect relationship of these two, and it is not mutually dependent, that is not correct, because the valid cognition that establishes concomitance and the valid cognition that establishes contradiction are impossible to be one or many. In any case, since that is impossible, it is also unreasonable for one mind, and it is also unreasonable for many minds; this is the fault that is being discussed here. Therefore, since there is a possibility of mutual dependence in their establishment, they are not established from themselves. If that is the case, will it become mutually dependent? That is also unreasonable, because if even one of them is not established in itself, then it is impossible for it to establish the others. Therefore, this cause and effect itself, which is not established from itself and mutually, is other than
