It is for the sake of abandonment, for the sake of attaining abandonment through the path of meditation that transcends the world. Because it is free from the defilements of all afflictions, it is unpolluted. It is called Nirvana, and that Nirvana is to be realized individually by noble beings through their own wisdom. Attaining Nirvana means attaining liberation from the suffering of samsara. This indicates that if one can see phenomena as they truly are, that is, as existing in their own nature, as dependently arising, impermanent, and suffering, then one can bring suffering to an end. Needless to say, it is similar to things like Gandharva cities and illusions. Through this intention, those who wish to learn the Bodhi of the Hearers from the Mother of the Victorious Ones should also study this Prajnaparamita. Therefore, this Mahayana has great significance. This is certain. Having practiced diligently for countless eons, accumulating merit and wisdom with a vast mind, the great and supreme Arya Nagarjuna, my mind is directed towards that treatise. Even so, for what reason, in the Seventy Verses, have the wise not yet explained the meaning? Therefore, I now strive diligently. Relying on the feet of the noble teacher Chandrakirti, I have obtained this lineage of oral instructions. With the power of my own intellect, whatever errors may arise from my ignorance, I pray that you all forgive me. How could we be called omniscient? May the vast merit arising from this, like snow, moon, and pearls, pacify all the elaborations of the world, and may we realize the pure nature of reality. The commentary on the Seventy Verses on Emptiness, composed by the great scholar of Kashmir, the Venerable Somashri, who relied closely on the dust of his feet, the great scholar, the Venerable Palahitartha, is completed. In Tholing Monastery (approximately 10-11th century, present-day Toling Town, Zanda County, Ngari Prefecture), it was translated, revised, and finalized by the Khenpo Parahita from Kashmir and the translator, the Shakya monk Yönnu Chok.", "explanation_of_emptiness_in_seventy_verses": "Benefiting Others
