Not having understood what the Buddhas, the Tathagatas, have said and taught, not having ascertained the suchness as it is meant. Here, what kind of ascertainment of suchness is desired to be clarified, which, if ascertained, will not give rise to fear. Therefore, it is mentioned, "This being, this arises," and so on. Relying on the thing that is desired to be the cause, that is, relying on this, the thing that is desired to be the result arises from this, that is, arises, because this is widely known throughout the world, so it does not prevent the worldly way, that is, it does not abandon it, because this is the teaching based on the conventional truth, so it is determined as suchness. For the teaching based on the ultimate truth, that which is dependently arisen is without inherent existence, that is, suchness, like illusions and so on, is not truly existent. If someone admits that it is not truly existent, then how does it appear? And how can it exist? This is the ascertainment of suchness. Now, in order to make all those who have the lineage of perfect enlightenment, and those who have the lineage of inferior enlightenment, enter into this, through this method, in a way that is close to explaining the attainment of the desired result, to explain its great significance, therefore, two verses are spoken. "This principle can be inferred by reason," and so on. Among them, the first verse enables those who have the lineage of supreme enlightenment to understand it correctly. The practitioner who generates the mind of enlightenment, first, through the wisdom of selflessness heard from the scriptures, understands the supreme path explained by the Seventy Stanzas on Emptiness, and then through reason, that is, through reasonable causes, infers from signs such as "born from causes," that is, determines through the wisdom of the nature of thought arising from reason. After that, it is fully equipped with faith that has the characteristic of obvious reliance. Seriously seeking the truth, that is, following the practice of seeking the truth of all phenomena being without inherent existence, as well as seeing

It is realized by meditators through the stages of familiarization. To be diligent there is not to put the mind elsewhere. In the meantime, even if one receives instructions from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, one does not rely on any Dharma teachings. Dharma is what is to be known, what is to be abandoned, what is pure, etc. Whatever is taught, one does not rely on some things that are indicated by the instructions of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and one does not cling to some teachings. As it is said: "Just as an illusory elephant is destroyed by an illusory lion, so too, a false inverted perception is certainly destroyed." In this way, one especially finds delight in all unfavorable and favorable aspects as being like illusions, in order to gain this delight. Whoever enters into a state of special familiarization in this way is pacified by abandoning non-existence, samsara, and nirvana. There is no attachment to these, and one obtains the complete purification of all aspects, which is the meaning of obtaining non-abiding nirvana. Anyone who wants to turn away from the suffering of samsara should focus on this very condition. Where does this condition arise? That is the condition. That itself is the condition, that is, dependent arising only by virtue of selflessness, that is the condition. Here, one perceives, combines, and sees with wisdom, such as illusions, as having a false nature, and understands them. Having understood this, all nets of wrong views, such as the view of the aggregates, the view of extremes, wrong views, the view of holding views as supreme, and the view of holding moral discipline and asceticism as supreme, which are not in accordance with true views and are the root of samsara, should be abandoned through the views associated with them. The subtle parts of afflictions such as desire are nets because they are like nets. Because it is a place of bondage. All of these are completely ceased, that is, by making them non-existent through the path of seeing, thereby abandoning desire, ignorance, anger, and the pride associated with them through the path of cultivation beyond the world.
