If the earth were to be destroyed, then saying that a barren woman has no son, even her name would cease to exist, but it is not like that. Therefore, it is not the name itself that is the object. What then is the object of this consciousness? This consciousness takes non-things as its object. The son of a barren woman is a non-thing, therefore, this consciousness that takes it as its object becomes one that takes non-things as its object. Again, what is the meaning of your object? It is said: The meaning of an object is that consciousness casts its own image onto consciousness. If that is the case, does the son of a barren woman cast an image onto the consciousness of the son of a barren woman? If it does, then the consciousness associated with the name of a non-thing should not be the nature of a thing, because these things and non-things cannot exist simultaneously at the same time. Even if it becomes a thing and a non-thing, how can consciousness not become dual? They are like darkness and light, not one. Just as the object of the consciousness that cognizes blue is blue, the object of the consciousness that cognizes non-things should also be non-things. In this way, non-things and images are contradictory, therefore this will not become a thing like the son of a barren woman, just as the consciousness of the blue image is like white, which contradicts the blue image. If there is no consciousness separated from the object and the image, then who will establish the image of different essence? Is it necessarily only the image of the object that is consciousness? If that were the case, then the object itself would become consciousness. It is not that the object itself is consciousness, but rather it is the nature of completely severing the image of the object. Therefore, although consciousness and object are similar in image, the object is not consciousness, because it is the nature to be severed and not the severer. The grasper is also not the object, because it is not the nature to be severed, but the nature of severing. Therefore.

The mere aspect of the object of cognition is not consciousness. Nor is it different from the consciousness of the object, because there is no nature of consciousness that is different from the aspect of the object. Therefore, the consciousness produced by following after non-existence is completely contradictory to non-existence in its aspect, and having turned away from existence, consciousness becomes non-existence. Even when consciousness is non-existent, it is said as if saying, "A barren woman's son is non-existent." Furthermore, this consciousness is not the nature of anything prior to arising. Moreover, since it does not grasp the aspect of an object, it does not obtain arising. At that time, for this which is nothing, please accomplish arising by grasping! Obtaining the aspect of non-existence by focusing on non-existence will lead to obtaining a state that is extremely contradictory to arising. It is also unreasonable to understand grasping non-existence without arising. Or, if it is necessarily thought that this consciousness focuses on non-existence, then one should examine the state prior to its arising. In the state of not yet arising, because non-existence and aspect are contradictory. Or, in that state, since there is no nature of grasping the object of cognition, one does not wish for one who focuses on non-existence, and because there is the fault of redundancy, one will not obtain another state either. If the consciousness that focuses on a barren woman's son will focus on many things, then just as the consciousness of the aspect of blue does not depend on the sound of blue, if it depends on the understanding of the meaning without depending on the sound of a barren woman's son, then understanding does not exist. That consciousness with the door of causes cannot enter without causes. If consciousness can enter even outside of causes, then it will also enter the nirvana without remainder. If you say that it does not enter because arising has ceased, then the consciousness that focuses on the signless will not cause arising to cease. If afflictions cease, karma will also cease, therefore one will not take birth. If the consciousness that has the cause of karma and afflictions is not like that, then the uncontaminated consciousness will...
