It acts. Hatred acts in the form of unpleasantness. Pride acts in the form of arrogance. The form of ignorance is ignorance. The form of doubt is doubt. The view of the collection of destructible things acts between self and what belongs to self. Holding views as supreme acts in the form of supreme over inferior things. Holding morality and asceticism as supreme acts in the form of cause and path over causelessness and non-path. For the time being, one does not observe those forms as permanent, who would observe those forms? Or if one fully understands the view of clinging to extremes, then like this, merely observing the Dharma that is not the form of self, one also fully understands it as the view of clinging to extremes. If it is also like that, then at that time, merely the Dharma of Nirvana is also a view of annihilation because of the cause of annihilation, how can it not become a view of clinging to extremes? Furthermore, merely for the Dharma that is not those forms, by imputing those forms, due to wrong discrimination, afflictions will arise. Therefore, things that arise dependently have no self-nature, because they are not born of self-nature. For those things, whoever truly understands self-nature, that is the lord of inversion, ignorance. Otherwise, if things have the nature of self-nature, then it will surely be perceived by the noble path that is focused on Suchness, the form of focusing on the self-characteristics of things does not exist in the noble path. There is no other stainless form other than the sixteen. As it is said in the treatise. Therefore, the things that are completely conceived by ignorance exist, but they are not Suchness. Like this, because of entering into the form of things, because one has not realized Suchness, it is established as not entering into the knowledge of Suchness. Things that are completely conceived by ignorance, desire is focused on the pleasant form, hatred is focused on the unpleasant form, pride is focused on the arrogant form, doubt is focused on hesitation, the view of the collection of destructible things is focused on the form of self and what belongs to self, the view of clinging to extremes is focused on the form of permanence and annihilation, wrong view is focused on the form of non-existence, holding views as supreme, over inferior things, with the supreme

Alternatively. Holding morality and asceticism as supreme by way of the path, thus, all afflictions are imputed by clinging to those very objects of pervertedness, which are completely examined by ignorance. Because of that, if there is no ignorance, there is no other birth. Thus, all afflictions are established as having ignorance as their cause. By abandoning ignorance, everything is abandoned completely, otherwise it is not, because they are connected with ignorance. As Arya Deva said: Ignorance dwells everywhere, just as the body depends on karma. Therefore, everything is struck here by afflictions because of ignorance. It is said. Furthermore, the Blessed One said this: In these five aggregates of appropriation, it is truly seen as self. That sutra is also very firmly established as being directed towards a single basis together with the view of clinging to extremes and the view of the collection of destructibles. Moreover, since this is extremely reasonable, if things exist, then both should be acknowledged. It is said. Here it is said: If things exist, but even so, their permanence and impermanence do not exist, then how can it be avoided that it falls into the view of permanence and the view of annihilation? It is said: Because of the continuity, this exists, because giving the cause, the thing ceases. As before, this is also not established and falls into the fault of annihilation. In that, the relationship of cause and effect enters, and from the arising of the momentary appropriation of conditioned things in the three times, it is called continuity. Thus, the sprouts, stems, and leaves of the rice seed arise successively, which is the continuity of the seed. Likewise, it should be known for others as well. That continuity of sprouts, etc., also enters through the cause of the seed, and from the continuity of sprouts, etc., which are caused by the seed, a fruit similar to the seed ultimately enters. That fruit is also established as the cause of the seed, how is it done? Here, the seed ceases, and from the continuity of its nature, it produces a similar fruit, so the cause of the real fruit ceases by giving the sprout. Distinguished by the ability to produce fruit.
