etc., can also be accomplished by the entity of the nature of wakefulness, therefore it is closely aimed at it. It is not reasonable to say as mentioned before about the consciousness corrupted by sleep. If that is the case, then a second entity of self-nature will be obtained. Who can fully examine this as two? If the entity of the nature of wakefulness does not possess it, because in the state of the entity of the nature of wakefulness, it is not visible. Or even in the state of dreaming, its entity of self-nature is not visible in the same way, therefore at that time who would establish it as the second entity of self-nature? Here, for the time being, it can be said to be of a false nature due to the reason of attachment to self-nature, but it cannot be established as two or three. If that is the case, then like nirvana without remainder, when waking up from dreaming, memory will not arise. If waking up from a dream is like nirvana, and all aspects of consciousness cease, then it will be like that. Here it should be said that there is the activity of consciousness when awake, it is not that the consciousness of wakefulness does not remember what was experienced in the dream. If it is said that memory is not reasonable because of what was experienced in the dream, then what was experienced by the previous consciousness will not be remembered by the later memory consciousness because it was not experienced. Because cause and effect are established as one continuum. Therefore, if it is said that there is memory, here the consciousness of wakefulness and dream are not different entities, but proceed in the manner of cause and effect. Again, how is it known that truth and falsehood are the cause of truth? Just as sound is of a sound image, and a sound image is also of its own consciousness. What is the use of your effort in confusion? If these do not abandon the existence of self-nature when analyzed by reason, who will understand selflessness here? Only because those that are unreasonable by reason, therefore it is reasonable to call them false. Therefore, please only establish these that are seen by worldly people. Worldly people also approach the fact that the differences of objects, times, and places in dreams are unreal.

Regarding the object of focus. By focusing on what is untrue, the noble ones eliminate attachment to things that are considered true, of the nature of awakening. How is something the object of focus? If one examines this, it is the same as the thing of the nature of awakening. If this thing of self-nature is also not appropriate by the aforementioned examination, then how do worldly people focus on what is inverted? If even inversion is unborn, then how do worldly people closely focus? Answer: Worldly people take what is seen as valid, so this thing of self-nature exists. But if that which is seen by worldly people is examined, it is said to be unestablished. How is that valid? Answer: The seeing of worldly people who have not done the aforementioned examination is taken as valid. If that is the case, then follow accordingly in all of this. Therefore, how do worldly people see things as appearing truly in some existing thing? What is the need to eliminate confusion? How do things like the eyes of the nature of awakening, like the dreams of worldly people, closely focus? Abiding in falsity, because of remembrance, it is neither other than the thing of self-nature, nor different, but closely focuses from inversion. Therefore, with the example of what is praised as such in the world, for the sake of not giving rise to attachment to the objects of focus of awakening things, the noble ones clearly make it false. Samsara is certain to arise from attachment to things, and liberation is said to be attained from the exhaustion of attachment to things. Therefore, like the happiness and suffering dreamed in a dream, like cause and place, ignorance and formations are established as being without self-nature. Here it is said: If things are without self-nature, then inferiority, equality, distinction, and superiority, and various differences will not be established, and things will not arise from causes. The aforementioned reasoning and the example of dreams also establish that things are without self-nature. If things are without self-nature, then at that time, you who speak of things as emptiness will not attain inferiority, equality, and distinction of superiority. There is no inferiority or equality in the non-existent sky flower.
