This is the same as having no cause. If the meaning can be obtained from the implication of what is said, then even so, in the statement 'the non-goer does not go,' the meaning expressed by the word 'cause' is not obtained through meaning. The category of the word 'cause' is not said to be obtained through the implication of what is said by taking it closely. Even if it is so, there is no fault, and the distinction should be established from the explanation. Among them, the five causes hold the present fruit, two causes produce the present fruit, and for the present and the past, there are two causes. One cause is produced by the past, because it is distinguished in the Abhidharma. The five causes, namely, co-emergent cause, equal cause, similar cause, pervasive cause, and ripening cause, hold the fruit in the present state. Because if they do not hold the fruit, they cannot produce future things, so they abide in the object of the cause. Some fruits are produced in the present, such as the fruit of the person produced by the co-emergent cause and the equal cause. Some are present and past, such as the similar fruit of the equal cause and the pervasive cause. It is clear that it is produced by past things. The present is the production of fruit because it is immediately complete. When the fruit is produced, those have also passed, because the fruit has been produced, so it no longer produces the fruit, and it cannot produce the fruit that is produced now again. The ripening cause produces the fruit from the past. When the causes are thus related to holding and producing the fruit, if the cause itself has the fruit at that time, then the cause related to it is a reasonable cause, but not for the one without the fruit. If someone admits that there is a fruit for the purpose of establishing the cause, then when the fruit already exists, what is the use of the cause? For what purpose is the cause completely sought? When the fruit already exists, there is no need for the cause at all, it should be said. Or, in order to distinguish 'the cause of this fruit is this,' wanting the cause of the fruit that already exists is also unreasonable.

Hey! Why is it that here, admitting that there is a result is unnecessary, and therefore it is considered to be established as without a cause? If there is no cause, then the existence of the result is eliminated, and because they are mutually dependent, they will be eliminated. Therefore, it is unreasonable to say, "This cause is the cause of this result." Even so, in order to establish "This cause is the cause of this result," actually wanting a cause that has a result is unreasonable. As long as that result is not complete, some things will not be established as a cause. Then, which worldly person who seeks a result will engage in accepting and rejecting? If you say that those who seek a result will first take the cause and completely abandon the non-cause, and then do it, these are just a few. Because if there is a result, the cause is not needed at all. Or, is that cause needed? Even so, that is not existent, because one who is born will not be born again, so there is the fault of infinity, and birth is also meaningless. Just like birth, similarly, having a result is not established by a cause. Or, in order to eliminate the faults mentioned above, if you want a non-existent result, even so, if there is no result there, it is the same as having no cause. If you say that yogurt is the result, milk is its cause, and water is not its cause, this is logically established, because of having a result and not having a result. Wherever that result, which is yogurt, does not exist, then there is no difference between yogurt being the result of milk, water, etc., not being the cause, and milk being the cause. Therefore, yogurt will not arise from milk, etc., because it is the same as having no cause. Therefore, if there is no result, then for it, there is also no cause. Or, if you think that there is a cause for a result that exists and does not exist, the answer is that existence and non-existence are also contradictory, because for one result, existence and non-existence are mutually opposed, so it is impossible. Therefore, such a result is non-existent. If it does not exist, the result will not exist, and where is the cause that does not need to rely on the result? Therefore, with the reasoning mentioned above, in the three times, the cause of the result is not established, that is, there is no cause. Precisely because of this.
