Because for the sake of the fruit, it enters with many (causes). Therefore, the individual causes, etc., do not have fruit, and it is not that many causes accomplish one fruit, but it will become something accomplished by one cause. Therefore, in order to abide in whatever, it enters into that whatever, so for the time being, the fruit does not abide in the causes, etc., of all natures. Now it does not abide even in parts, because it will become one fruit produced in segments, and even when the causes are different, it will become many causes producing the fruit. If it does not abide in the causes, etc., then it does not arise from the causes, etc., and in the first fundamental distinction, or even if it is not in the conditions, etc., it arises from them, then the fruit can also arise from non-conditions, why does it not manifestly arise? This is from this sentence. When the fruit does not abide in the causes, etc., it does not arise from them, and at that time it is not possible for the unborn to exist. Moreover, since it is now like this, then because things do not have self-nature, all things are the same as Nirvana, and emptiness of self-nature is established. Here some say: We do not admit that the number of fruits is the same as the number of causes and conditions, therefore I do not have the fault of the existence of fruit, and it cannot be said that it does not exist, because there is no great difference. For example, a pot and a weaver, not in the rice seed and rice sprout, because there is the ability to produce them, so in this way, abandoning the idea of the existence and non-existence of the fruit in the causes, etc., the fruit arises from the cause, thus temporarily establishing birth, because birth is established and abides, so cessation is also established, abiding, etc., are not just names. Because of having birth, abiding, and cessation, things are not without self-nature, because they exist in their own self-nature. The answer is: Saying that is just a little, why? If someone wants to establish the self-nature of things, then is its self-nature existing or not existing in the causes, etc.? There is no third examination. Moreover, if the cause has the ability to produce the fruit, then also...

Because the seed does not have the self-nature of the fruit, it is accepted that all things arise from the unarisen. Even so, it is not possible to escape that fault. Furthermore: That which exists does not arise because it exists, That which does not exist does not arise because it does not exist, Because the dharmas are incompatible, it is neither existent nor nonexistent, Because there is no arising, there is no abiding or ceasing. If someone says this: abandoning the thought of existence and non-existence, the fruit arises from the cause, here arising is established. That is not right. Why? Because the thing that speaks of things, its reason is existence and non-existence. Why abandon speaking of these two, just like speaking of emptiness of dependent origination? Therefore, if it is said that it arises from a cause, then, does the existent arise? Or does the non-existent arise? If it is temporarily existent, then, at that time, the fruit is always existent because it is an existent thing. Because it exists, just like the present consciousness, it is not arising. Therefore, the temporarily existent will not become arising, because it is existent. Or if it does not exist, then the fruit of the nature of non-existence, even so, because it does not exist, the fruit is not always existent. Because it is not existent, just like a rabbit's horn, there is no arising. Even so, will it arise in the manner of both? Answer: Because the dharmas are incompatible, it is neither existent nor nonexistent. Whatever contradictory dharma, that is incompatible. The reality of contradictory dharma is incompatible dharma. Whatever existence and non-existence contradict each other, that existence, for the thing of incompatible dharma that contradicts each other, what arising does not exist. If there is arising, it will become existent, for that which has no arising, abiding and ceasing are unreasonable. There is no abiding and arising and ceasing, thereby it is established that the meaning of words such as abiding is emptiness. If things that are separated from abiding and arising and ceasing are established to have self-nature, then, all things, like nirvana, are established as without self-nature. Here it is said: If again it is not possible to say that it arises from the existent or arises from the non-existent, even so it arises, this is temporarily famous among the cowherd women.
