Because "existence" exists, and all dharmas are without self, therefore nothing is possessed by anyone. Because "existence" exists, therefore non-self also exists. Someone says: Neither self nor non-self exists. As the reason stated earlier, both dharmas and pudgalas are negated. Whenever self and non-self are like this, self and non-self are both unreasonable. At that time, everything is just language, actually empty. Here someone says: If you negate the meaning to be expressed, then that language, which is actually empty, still exists, and from the appearance of that language, other real things will also arise. Or, the expresser cannot exist independently of the things to be expressed, and these languages exist without being negated, therefore the things to be expressed will also arise. Someone says: If the expresser exists, then the things to be expressed will arise, but the expresser does not exist. To prove this, the Buddha said: There is no expression. The expresser also cannot exist independently of the things to be expressed, therefore expression also does not exist. If it is said that the language spoken by the son of a barren woman, although the meaning it expresses is empty, the expresser exists independently of the things to be expressed, therefore expression exists. Someone says: How does expression distinguish between real and unreal things to be expressed? Real and unreal things have also been proven not to exist. If these do not exist, then what other things to be expressed are there? If there are no things to be expressed, then the expresser also does not exist, therefore expression also does not exist. Or, because it has been proven that abiding etc. do not exist, so if abiding etc. do not exist, sound cannot be established, therefore it is said that there is no expression. Or, because it has been proven that language is empty of meaning, and sound is also the thing to be expressed by other sounds, so for the meaning itself, that meaning also does not exist. Because there is no meaning, sound also does not exist. Recognizing this, the Buddha said that there is no expression. Even if there is no expression, the meaning to be expressed will not be established. Here someone says: If the meaning expressed by the expresser also does not exist, then what exists at that time? Someone says: I cannot make you rich with illusory wealth, nor can I quench your thirst with the water of a mirage, nor can I appease your hunger with illusory venison. Then

Here, what should be grasped is Suchness itself. Again, what is that Suchness here? It is said: If you do not wrongly establish Suchness with inverted understanding and abandonment, and also generate respect for the profound Dharma-nature, then your: Expression is the same as Nirvana. The nature of all things is emptiness. Nature, essence, and Suchness are synonyms. Emptiness by nature means being devoid of nature. Nirvana means complete permanence, the nature of no arising, without even a trace of its own characteristics. As the Blessed One said: In any case, this is abandoning all suffering, abandoning, purifying, extinguishing, being free from attachment, cessation, approaching quiescence, suffering no longer connecting with others, this is without grasping, this is great peace. Thus, abandoning all aggregates, the exhaustion of craving, freedom from attachment, cessation, is Nirvana. Thus, the nature of Nirvana is nothing, similarly, the nature of all dharmas is nothing, therefore, relying on the Suchness of dharmas without inversion. One should say that the nature of all dharmas is the same as Nirvana. Only in this way can one rely on the Suchness of dharmas without inversion, otherwise it is not. Here it is said: For the time being, it is acceptable that Nirvana is merely the absence of suffering and has no nature. However, how can one prove that the inner and outer dharmas, such as formations and sprouts, and ignorance and seeds, etc., which exist as the nature produced by causes and conditions, how can one prove that their own characteristics, experienced individually, collectively, and commonly, and the characteristics of extremely long periods of time away from Nirvana, are emptiness by nature? Therefore, if one says that all dharmas are not the nature of Nirvana, then, it is said: If those experienced by the inverted consciousness of ignorance become valid, then what is the use of the noble ones and the noble path? The experience of a child is itself valid, and the valid sees truly.
