This is explaining the principle that inherent existence is not established. Alternatively, the word "self" is a synonym for inherent existence. For example, the phrase "the eye is empty of self" means "empty of inherent existence." The word "of self" means anything related to inherent existence. If it is said in this way, it will become "the eye itself does not exist." It should be said in this way, clearly stating that "the eye does not exist." Someone says, "I will not say that the eye itself does not exist. Why would worldly people say that the eye does not exist?" It is said in the scriptures, "For the time being, worldly people will not say that the eye does not exist, because they rely on self, and the eye is the proximate cause. Because the scriptures say that name and form are the cause of the six sense bases, the eye is produced relying on name and form. Therefore, the eye is the cause of seeing and touching. If it is like this, worldly people say that the eye does not exist, then how can I admit that worldly people have no eyes? Therefore, for the time being, worldly people will not say that the eye does not exist. Now, the scriptures also say that the eye does not exist, the meaning of the scriptures is that afflictions are destroyed through the non-inverted path. At the time of cessation, it is the worldly person. For example, worldly people say that killing will be destroyed by severe punishment. The non-inverted path is also impossible to obtain from the inverted appearance, because it is invisible. At that time, the eyes of worldly people are non-existent. The ultimate pursuit of the inherent nature of things, that is, the non-inverted path, is also invisible because of the nature of non-existence and non-birth. Without an object, which yogi can understand it? Because it cannot be understood, it cannot show non-existence. Therefore, I will not say that there is no eye in the scriptures either. Like this, when distinguishing between conventional truth and ultimate truth, in conventional truth, the self-nature of the eye is considered to be the appearance of illusion, mirage, and Gandharva city, but these do not exist in ultimate truth, these ideas are the teachings of Madhyamaka.

It cannot be said to be a completely correct treatment. The eye does not actually establish its own nature, but children perceive it as if it has established its own nature. Therefore, in conventional truth, the eye has no own nature. If something does not exist even in conventional truth, then it is not mistakenly conceived as existing even in the knowledge of ultimate truth, because yogis do not want to manifestly understand it. Alternatively, even if the reasoning of the statement "the eye exists in conventional truth, but does not exist in ultimate truth" is undoubtedly feasible, even then, admitting and denying own nature are not effective. Similarly, even if it is said that "there is no reversal in conventional truth, but the absence of own nature in ultimate truth is effective," admitting the own nature of things cannot be illustrated by examples such as illusion, because admitting own nature has no connection with examples such as illusion, and because non-deception has been admitted. If that is the case, if emptiness of the eye is not established for you, then, as mentioned earlier, what does it accomplish to explain that the eye is empty of self and what belongs to self by reasoning, so that the eye is empty of its own nature?

Is doing. It is not that I am eliminating self-nature, so it will not become the fault as mentioned before. If it is established that the eye is empty of self-nature in that way, then the eye is established as empty by some kind of self-nature. For example, when saying that the house is empty of Longchenpa, because Longchenpa does not exist, it is understood that the house exists. If one does not want both to be empty, then this cannot become emptiness. Here, the Mind-Only school says: Because the other-dependent exists and the completely imputed does not exist, only we are suitable for emptiness, because we do not admit that something is empty of something, so it is not so for the Madhyamikas. What can emptiness do? It cannot be empty of it, nor can it be empty of itself. Here, the self-nature of the other-dependent, the unutterable dependent arising thing, is divided into two types, namely pure and impure. Among them, the completely impure is defiled by the stains of the grasping and the grasped completely imputed, which have been accustomed to since beginningless samsara. The completely pure is abandoning the bad karma of the habits of grasping and grasping elaboration, transformation of the basis, transformation of the basis, the pure self-nature is what the Buddhas can individually realize. Moreover, this self-nature of the other-dependent does not arise by itself, but the self-nature arises by the power of other conditions, so it is other-dependent. That is to say, self-nature is the essence of things, because it is seen from other conditions, so it is called other-dependent, because it is different from other self-natures, so the word "power" is used for the main thing. For example, in the world, saying "I have autonomy here" means saying that oneself is the main thing. This is known from the power of others, so it is other-dependent, it is born from others. Or, through transmission and generation, power is other-dependent, other-dependent means generated by others. The other-dependent is the conventional real, because there is no grasped and grasping imputed, it will become incomparable emptiness. As the sutra says: Something does not exist somewhere, that is empty, any remaining thing exists here
