Statement: Here, although the forms such as the nature of a vase, cloth, and cart are the same in terms of aggregation, there are differences such as spaciousness depending on the differences in the respective definite causes and conditions. That difference is called the reason, because it measures the differences of things. The signs of vase, cloth, etc., are held by what dharma arising from the mind, that is perception, and the nature of completely cutting off and holding signs is called perception. Perception enters the sign of the object, while consciousness only enters the holding of the object; the dharma with the nature of holding the difference of the object, is the same as the mental dharma, and therefore also has the ability to hold the difference of the object. Therefore, what mental dharma that is associated with consciousness, completely cuts off the difference of the object of the nature of vase, cloth, cart, etc., that is called perception. Such perception enters the same name and meaning that are not complete, name makes the meaning clear, and perception makes it correctly known, therefore, knowing the symbol of the sign of name and meaning is clear, that is word entering name, and name entering meaning, therefore, speech enters name, and name can express meaning. Perception that is not familiar with terms is not clear, therefore name does not enter meaning, and name cannot establish meaning either. That itself is perception because it holds both name and meaning. The difference of the basis becomes six, from being associated with eye consciousness to being associated with mind consciousness. It also becomes three types, namely small, large, and immeasurable. The aggregate of perception has been explained. Speaking from the aspect of the aggregate of formation: The aggregate of formation is of two types, namely associated with mind and not associated with mind. Among them, because the basis, object, aspect, time, and substance are the same, it enters together with the mind, so it is associated with mind.

, from mind and so on up to the ultimate forbearance. Among these, those that become the cause of disputes and those that become the cause of samsara, namely feeling and perception, are extracted and established separately as aggregates. Other than that, mental events such as mind, and non-mental formations such as attainment, these themselves are the aggregate of formations. Among these, those that are concomitant with mind are: thought, contact, attention, desire, interest, faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, wisdom, discrimination, investigation, non-carefulness, carefulness, sorrow, joy, great joy, extreme pliancy, extreme non-pliancy, harm, non-harm, sense of shame, conscientiousness, equanimity, liberation, root of virtue, root of non-virtue, root of the unspecified, pervasive activity, bondage, latent tendencies, near afflictions, pervasive entanglement, outflows, floods, yokes, grasping, knots, obscurations, awareness, and forbearance. The names of the mental concomitants have been stated. Furthermore, other formations that are similar in being non-physical and of the same type as mind are non-mental formations, such as: attainment, non-attainment, cessation of perception, cessation of feeling, non-perception, life faculty, commonality of kind, individuality, sentient being-ness, birth, aging, abiding, impermanence, collection of names, collection of sentences, collection of letters, absence of assembled causes, and assembled causes. These are non-mental formations. Among these, thought is the activity of mind that makes mind manifest, just as kings employ ministers to perform various tasks and cause them to engage in those tasks, so too, mind, through thought, manifests in various places with the nature related to action. It abides as the seed-like nature for the arising of all formations, acting

Because karma arises from various actions, that is the nature of karma. Moreover, it has three forms: virtue, non-virtue, and neutral. If further divided, it becomes a collection of six consciousnesses, from being associated with eye consciousness to being associated with mind consciousness. So, what is contact? Just as when rain falls into water, bubbles arise in the water, similarly, when the senses enter their respective objects, such as the eyes, as they are, the respective consciousnesses of seeing forms, etc., arise closely, or just as children, etc., arise relying on parents, similarly, when consciousness arises relying on the senses and objects, then, like the place of children or the place of water bubbles, the consciousness, and the arising from the close gathering of the three, object, sense, is contact. Or, as the cause of contact, when the senses, objects, and consciousnesses gather closely, the so-called gathering means that when the three exist as the nature of cause and effect, they depend on each other. Moreover, it has three forms: experiencing pleasure, experiencing suffering, and experiencing neither pleasure nor suffering. It also has six forms: from the contact of the gathering of eye consciousness to the contact of the gathering of mind consciousness. Attention is the mind entering the object, meaning focusing on the object. The nature of the mind is naturally moving, like a monkey, therefore, if it is not associated with other dharmas, it itself will not stay on the object. If it does not intervene in the activities of other objects, but stays on the object, it is impossible not to be associated with other dharmas. Therefore, by relying on what, consciousness becomes focused on the desired object, this is called mind entering, that is, for the mental dharma that approximates the nature of the activity of the mind, it is called attention. Because of attention, it is attention, meaning causing the mind to stay on a certain object. Or, when the object is attended to, it is attention, that is, by the power of what, consciousness is the nature of attending to the object. Samadhi is
