It is established. If it is said that space and so on are indeterminate, that is not the case, because their existence will also be prevented in the same way. If one wants to avoid this fault and, because it contradicts the promise, promises to have a cause, then even so, the permanence here will be lost. Because of what? Permanent things with cause do not exist. Because of having a cause, it is impermanent like happiness and so on, it is thought. Because of what is this so? Therefore, that which is established from no cause, is said to be not established by the one who knows that. The Bhagavan said: The wise are exceedingly devoted to the Dharma that arises from the teachings, and do not rely on extreme views. Dharmas with cause and condition can be known, but Dharmas without cause and condition do not exist. Thus it is said. In this teaching, in connection with the reason as stated, therefore, only the Tathagata knows the meaning without error, thus it is established. If it is thought that, in the case of things done such as pots and happiness, impermanence is determined, and through the understanding of meaning, things not done such as self will become permanent, this is also unreasonable. Because in the case of things done such as pots and happiness, existence is determined, and through the opposite way, through the understanding of meaning, things not done such as self and so on will also become non-existent. In order to show that, it is said: Having seen impermanence as made, if the unmade is permanent, then having seen the made as existent, the permanent existence will become non-existent. Since non-existence is not permanent, therefore, permanent existence of things does not exist, like a flower in the sky. If it is thought that, in the Abhidharma scriptures, it has been promised that unmade things such as space, cessation by discrimination, and cessation not by discrimination are permanent and existent, therefore, showing the unmade as non-existent will be harmed by the promise, that is also not the case. Because: Space and so on are permanent, individual ordinary people think so. The wise do not see the meaning of those, even worldly people. Only the term space is applied to mere formlessness, the so-called space

The nature of things does not exist even slightly. Because there is no other form, there is no obstacle to the arising of things with form, therefore there is no other form. Because things appear most in this, it is called space. Therefore, for that which has not become a thing and is nothing, merely indicating the name, those who are extremely ignorant assume that things exist, that is not प्रमाण(pramāṇa, valid cognition, प्रमाण). Like this, when those who are skilled in the nature of things apply the name of space, just as for the expressions of earth etc. like hardness etc., even worldly ज्ञान(jñāna, knowledge, ज्ञान) cannot refer to it by its own nature, and nothing can be observed. How much more so will those who abide in knowing the nature of things and do not perceive things that are of the nature of inner and outer, perceive its own nature? Likewise, the other two cessations should also be spoken of in the same way. Permanence merely clarifies that they do not change into anything else because they are nothing, but it is not the main सिद्ध(siddha, accomplished one, सिद्ध). Therefore, space etc. do not have permanence. Here it is said: Space is only permanent, because it is pervasive. Whatever is not permanent is not pervasive, for example, a pot. This should be explained: Because it has been shown that this unborn is not existent, it is also shown in effect that all dependent things that rely on it cannot exist. Even so, because one wants to explain the unreasonableness of the other's system by eliminating the difference of the nature of things that are famous in the other's system, therefore, by blocking the pervasiveness of space, one wants to eliminate permanence and explains it. The so-called direction, the one with direction: it does not abide in all places. Therefore, for the one with direction, the direction is very clear in other places. Space will become the one with parts of the parts of space. There, the direction that connects to the pot does not reside in the direction that connects to other things. If it resides, then at that time, because it is not different from the place, the pot will also become existent in all places. That is also non-existent, so this is unreasonable. Furthermore, if the direction also
