If someone does not understand the nature of foolishness, like a rabbit's horn which does not exist, and yet does not realize that it does not exist, then this can only allow the general public to grasp the meaning that they want to express. If one wants to prove that something exists, it is like having to prove three parts, but because it is not established, it is impossible to actually prove it. Therefore, logicians realize that the effort of engaging in logical reasoning is meaningless. Even so, even if the definition of logic is not understood, wise people can truly understand how things actually exist and show it to others, thereby completely resolving worldly issues. Furthermore, because impermanence is well known in the world, and the world has also determined this, it is impossible to say that the Tathagata only spoke the truth. If worldly people impose their own characteristics on things and think that things are unreal, then because they do not understand the falsity and deceptiveness of things, it can be said that the Tathagata completely sees things as they truly are. Here, some say that things that arise for the sake of fruit are indeed not eternal. However, those things that do not have two components, such as space and so on up to the mind, and those that do not have one component, such as the fine particles of earth and so on, will be eternal. They claim that because they do not understand the existence and eternity of these things, the Tathagata also does not see things as they truly are. To refute their view, the teacher said: 'Without dependence, there is no existence.' This means that if one focuses on regarding happiness and so on as their own causes and conditions, then how can one not understand that those things that are not actually interdependent do not exist? This is very clear, and it should be understood that these things, like space, utpala (藏文,梵文天城体,utpala,青莲花), and so on, do not exist. If one cannot understand, then it is like a person with blurred vision.

Therefore, the transformation of views caused by fabricating this will become apparent. Therefore, without dependence, there is no existence. This way is not confused with all things that are different due to different places, times, and things, as it is said: wherever, whenever. Because this is so, therefore, at no time and in no place does any permanent thing exist. The first half is established, and the latter half concludes. When other conjectured things do not arise in dependence and connection, existence and permanence do not exist, then the Tathagata is established as seeing without perversion. Thus, like this, know that existence is existence, that is, arising in dependence and connection. Non-existence is also non-existence, that is, other conjectured things do not arise in dependence and connection. Those who manifest both arising and destruction, and are merely non-manifest, therefore, excluding what arises from not being separated from the great, etc., merely placing the manifestation of exclusion in mind, realizing it as permanent, and not wanting any dependence and connection to arise, those also cannot go beyond the refutation that has already been said. If it is said that happiness, etc., which arise in dependence and connection, all exist, and I am the cause of those aggregates. Non-existence is also not the cause of aggregates. Therefore, in order to see its result, for the time being, I exist. That is also permanent, because it exists but does not possess a cause, whatever exists but its cause is not seen, that is permanent. If it is thought that if I exist, then all things of the same kind as me will also exist, then this should be explained: if I myself exist, then it would be so. How is it? Like this: without a cause, there is no thing. Thing, nature, self, permanent, and stable, these are different names. It is impossible to have no cause, like this, if the opponent himself admits that this is without a cause, then he has admitted that it is without a cause. Whatever is without a cause, like a donkey's horn, etc., does not exist.
