If you think that attachment will only arise from conformity, then it depends on the situation. Even so, at that time, attachment will only arise like a transaction. "Only" refers to the sole cause and condition. If attachment arises because of the thought, "This should enter my sight," then to reciprocate following him, to create attachment for the sake of repaying, then diligent people will pursue transactions, not attachment. Therefore, what is the use of sorrow for a son? It is like dispelling the sorrow of a king who arose from the death of his son. Once there was a king who had a very beloved son, who later passed away. The ministers reported, "He has become stiff," and upon hearing this, the king became very angry and wanted to kill him. Then the minister reported, "He is dead," and the king was very pleased and even beat the great drum of joy. Therefore, conforming to the world becomes painful, but not otherwise. Here it is said that the relationship of attachment is relative, but this is not correct, because the son's attachment to the father is obvious. It should be said: The suffering born of separation, people quickly turn away from the heart, attachment also has the suffering of separation, look at the symbol of instability! Attachment does not have stability, because people see that soon after, the suffering born of separation will disappear. Just like the great sorrow born of the death of a son, it will also quickly disappear from people's hearts due to other events and fears. If the bonds of attachment do not loosen, then the suffering it produces will not disappear. But the disappearance of suffering is obvious. Therefore, attachment also does not have stability, so do not let the sorrow it produces torment yourself, like the story of Gachen jumping into the water to save his son. Once there was a king walking on the water, and non-humans seized the boat. His minister, named Gachen, said, "Please make offerings to the gods," and entrusted his sons to the king, jumped into the river, and said, "Take me, release the king," the non-humans

They also prayed to those people and then let them go. The sons, having heard of his death, became exceedingly sorrowful. When the king properly distributed enjoyments, they were freed from the suffering of separation from their father, and regarded their father's death as a source of merit. Therefore, sorrow is neither permanent nor certain. Here, even though one should not torment oneself with the sorrow caused by separation from a loved one, since the bonds of attachment have loosened, nevertheless, worldly people think that one should conform to worldly customs, and torment oneself by abandoning the body, striking one's own body, pulling out hair, and so forth. It should be said: Even though you have already been tormented by harm, knowing that there is no merit, you still subject yourself to further torment, which is not appropriate for oneself. Here, even though you have been tormented by harm done in accordance with worldly customs, knowing that there is no merit in it, you still torment yourself. Therefore, if you obtain torment by subjecting yourself to this conformity, it is not appropriate for yourself. "Conformity" is the act of abandoning dharma in order to accomplish one's own purpose, and doing things to amaze others. Therefore, it is not appropriate to conform excessively to the world. Therefore, one should not be discouraged by the suffering caused by following others. The wise should not imitate the path relied upon by the foolish and deceitful. Therefore, one must remain independent and not give sorrow an opportunity. Like a woman who teaches lying. When a woman wants to teach another woman to lie, she kills herself and boasts of being a teacher. Even though she knows that doing so will lead to death, she still does it. Similarly, those afflicted by sorrow, even though they know that there is no merit in it, still strike themselves. Here it is said:

Pa. Even if torment has no merit whatsoever, nevertheless, because one desires to obtain connection with suffering, the aspect of torment that cannot arise without it is indeed completely impossible to abandon. It is to be said: Like scattering suffering, one wanders everywhere in this world. What is the use of scattering suffering to a person who has become suffering? When this entire world is led by karma and afflictions to this and that destination, one cannot transcend the suffering of the nature of suffering such as birth, old age, sickness, and death. Therefore, through the door of the suffering of samsara, to that world where one is afflicted by suffering, others who have not separated from desire repeatedly become sons and daughters, and the objects of relatives, and when one goes again to the assembly of beings who have become fathers, mothers, and relatives, like sprinkling salt on a wound, one scatters the suffering generated by separation from oneself, and it is completely fulfilled. Therefore, what need is there to fully embrace the suffering of separation again for this person whose nature has become suffering? Like this, if this person had no suffering and was someone who sought suffering, then in that case, it would be reasonable to scatter him with suffering. But this is not the case, so there is no need to scatter suffering at all. Therefore, any sentient being, after encountering those people who do meaningless things, will become saddened by their departure. Therefore, if that is the case, having recognized the harm of suffering such as birth related to samsara, the wise who wish to turn others away from suffering should abandon samsara itself, because it is the cause of meaninglessness for oneself and others. One should not enter the house of sorrow, thereby completely losing the side of virtue. It is like two brothers informing each other of the death of their father and mother. Of the two brothers, one's mother had died, and the other's father had died. Both of them met in order to inform each other. One of them saw and said: Alas, Aza.
