Just as attachment arises towards one thing, hatred and delusion arise towards others. Because the object of attachment does not inherently exist, it is empty. Therefore, for a yogi who diligently meditates on the emptiness of things that cause attachment, it is not impossible to abandon attachment; indeed, it is possible to abandon attachment. Like a mother, a concubine, and a servant girl. Some men have two wives, one of whom lives with a son, and the other has no son. When the mother sees her son, she is happy, while the concubine is saddened by seeing him, and the servant girl remains neutral. Thus, the objects of attachment and so forth do not inherently exist. Having thus temporarily shown that the object does not exist, attachment and so forth do not exist. To show that attachment and so forth do not exist because the cause does not exist, it is said: Without thought, are desire, etc., Existing or non-existing? That which is truly real, Who with wisdom would grasp as thought? Because it is said in the scriptures: "Desire, hatred, and ignorance are said to arise from thought." The cause of the pervasiveness of afflictions such as desire is improper thought about objects. Therefore, those things that exist only when there is thought, and do not exist when there is no thought, are certainly like a snake mistaken for a rope, and it is certain that they do not inherently exist. If someone asserts that desire and so forth inherently exist, then they must rely on thought, which contradicts inherent existence. One should not assert that it arises. If this is the true meaning, then why rely on thought to make it exist? But if it relies, then how is this the true meaning? Therefore, because the minds of the wise are illuminated by the light of reason and scripture, they do not accept that things that do not inherently exist are produced by thought, but fools become completely immersed in them in a reversed way. Like the skull of a meditator. Some meditators...

Thinking that a hat was falling on my head, my mind became very confused. Some people threw another hat over and said, this fell from your head, and he realized that was the case and returned to normal. Because it was a reversed thought. Here it is said that desire and so on have inherent existence, because they are bonds. Just as a woman is bound together with a man by desire that has a man as its object, and does not leave the man. A man is also bound together with a woman by desire that has a woman as its object, and does not abandon the woman. It should be said that for anything, being bound together with it, such a statement does not exist. Like this, desire arises in dependence on conceptual thought, therefore it is not established by its own nature. Similarly, men and women are also not established by their own nature. Therefore, in any thing, any thing being bound together with it, is not inherently existent, because it is the cause of bondage. Therefore, desire is not established by its own nature. If one still abandons such observation and thinks of being bound together with other things, then in that case, being bound together with other things, separation is not reasonable. Separation and liberation and complete liberation are not other meanings. If inherent nature becomes the cause of bondage for other things, then at that time, because one's own nature does not change, if it becomes the only one without liberation, then there is also complete liberation, so desire is not by its own nature the cause of bondage. If there is no cause of bondage, how can there be bondage? Therefore, the inherent nature of desire and so on is completely emptiness, and it can be established that one can abandon it from seeing that its inherent nature is emptiness. Just like the union of a black bull and a white bull. Just as a black bull is not united with a white bull, and a white bull is not united with a black bull, but through a yoke and a water rope and so on. Similarly, the senses are not objects, and the objects are not senses, but the desire of longing here is bondage. If one distinguishes in that way
