Because of abandoning the cause of inverted joy, one is not delighted in samsara, like King Mahadarshana. In the city of Kusha, the Bodhisattva Mahadarshana, who resided in the kingship of a Chakravartin and lived in a household, abandoned eighty-four thousand consorts after seeing the faults of the realm of desire and cultivated the four dhyanas. Here, mentioning Mahadarshana is just an example. Other Bodhisattvas who have attained the bhumis also do not rejoice in samsara, even in the heavenly realms, because they see that beings have no inherent nature. However, in order for beings to understand its nature, they revolve in the ocean of samsara by the power of their vows, and they are not stained by the impurities of the faults of samsara. Acharya Aryadeva said in his Four Hundred Verses that this is the method for Bodhisattva yogis to abandon attachment to the enjoyments that worldly people crave, which is the commentary on the seventh chapter. For those who are severely bound by the bonds of desire, in order to explain that it is impossible to abandon desire for oneself and others, it is said: Just as friendship does not last long among discordant people, similarly, desire does not last long for those who see faults in everything. Only those who conform to beings can draw the minds of people by the power of the benefits they bestow, causing the friends of those people to exaggerate their qualities, focusing on birth and dwelling, but not on those who do not conform. Because they are engaged in perceiving its faults. Therefore, just as friendship does not last long among discordant people, so too for a yogi, how is it possible to be completely free from desire, since they see faults in both internal and external things? Like the Brahmin boy 'Cause,' the noble Enemy-Victorious, and the prince defeated on the battlefield. For example, the Brahmin boy named 'Cause,' at the time of taking a bride, was walking on the road, wanting to take the hand of a young girl, the Blessed One

It is said, "An ignorant child is bound by attachment; when detached, he is completely liberated." Having heard those words, he realized the four noble truths as if he were dwelling in that very place, understanding each separately. Among them, 'attachment' is called the truth of origination; 'bound' is called the truth of suffering; 'detached' is called the truth of the path; and 'completely liberated' is called the truth of cessation. Having become a renunciate, he also directly realized the state of an Arhat. Similarly, the noble Drapa Pamseng (enemy vanquisher), before that, had been a shepherd. His father had died, and his uncle had become a renunciate. He still had the habit of taking a wife. He explained the situation to his uncle, who said, "If you pursue more, is the value of this girl suitable? Or, for now, decide what the value of her excrement is." Similarly, he spoke in detail about urine, blood, mucus, fat, pus, saliva, phlegm, and so on. Because he understood the faults of the place, having heard those words, he emerged from the assembly, became a renunciate, and also became an Arhat. Similarly, a certain king had a very poor son. Later, he became stiff. The king defeated him in battle and captured him. Because he saw his faults, the king's attachment to him disappeared. Similarly, attachment does not remain at all when faults are understood. Because faults are always seen, not only does attachment not remain, but it is also possible to abandon it. This is because there is no basis for attachment. To show how that basis does not exist, it is said: Some are attached to it, some hate it, and some are deluded by it. Therefore, desire is meaningless. If attachment depends on an object that causes attachment, then that object that causes attachment is not established by its own nature. For example, what one person is attached to is precisely what others hate and are deluded by. If it were an object of attachment established by its own nature, then it should be so at all times and in all circumstances, but this certainty is not seen. This
