It should be distinguished. To invest without reservation in benefiting others is not beautiful. It is like erecting a stone on a mountain. Just as erecting a stone on a mountain peak with effort, it is easy to fall without effort, so are all the actions of worldly people. Here it is said, for what reason? Because cause and condition come together to produce action, therefore one does it with effort, and it decays due to incompleteness. Here it is said, even if things decay without effort, even so, for the sake of happiness, one will not be free from attachment to it. It should be said, there is no happiness in the past, nor is there happiness in the future, and what is happening now is also passing away, what is all your toil for? Briefly analyzing, for the consciousness that has passed, there is no happiness, because it has ceased. For the future, there is also no happiness, because it has not been encountered. For the present, there is also no happiness, because there is no abiding. Thus, there is no happiness, and therefore no benefit. There is craving for enjoying happiness, but what is the fatigue of accumulating the cause of happiness for? In short, the toil of accumulating for the sake of happiness is only fruitless, so think. It is like building a house on the bank of a river. Some people build houses on the bank of a river, and that place collapses. Then, another person builds on the same bank, and it also collapses, and in the end, there is only collapse, without stopping. Just as the house builder only has fatigue and does not obtain the desired result, so are all the actions of worldly people. Here it is said, the mind changes quickly in an instant, because whether past, present, or future, if you observe carefully, there is no happiness, then what is the accumulation of these actions for? Here it is said, even so, for the sake of the happiness of the heavenly realms, one will certainly do virtuous deeds. It should be said, for the wise, even the heavenly realms are like hell, causing fear. In any case, for them, it is difficult for any existence not to cause fear. Therefore, it is completely afflicted.

Because it is the gateway to the arising of various sufferings, because the fire of intense afflictions arising from objects blazes, and because ignorance is predominant, even the heavenly realm generates fear like hell, therefore it is abandoned by the wise. For those who should rejoice in enjoying the flawless bliss of perfect heaven, if they do not generate rotation, how could they be pleased with a state of existence other than that, which is based on a cemetery? The word "also" here should be connected in a different order, and should be regarded as the ending of the word "heaven." For the time being, set aside other existences! It should be explained that even heaven is like hell to the wise. Like a child being freed from bondage, like Bali being freed from bondage. For example, the so-called child king, a person with a nature as cruel and laws as sharp as iron, has appeared, and whoever enters his prison first will be tightly bound by five bonds such as hands, feet, and genitals. When he releases some people, he will order the attendants and guardians, saying, 'Although this person can be freed from all bonds, if he wants to spend his life with one behavior, he should be well guarded.' It is like the gods doing as they said. For those who have been freed from the bondage of the child king, liberation also generates fear like bondage, because the suffering is particularly severe. Similarly, for other great lords, even heaven will generate fear like the place of hell. Also, just as Bali became the lord of all the worlds and was bound, would he appear to give to others and leave? Similarly, for those for whom even heaven is the cause of suffering and is therefore like hell, what other existence is there that does not generate fear? Furthermore, just as the wise contemplate the faults of samsara separately, the virtuous suffer in one samsara, and are completely surrounded by the burning fire of suffering.

Just as one sees, so one observes. If even a child were to fully understand the suffering of samsara, in that instant, their mind and body would utterly perish together. What kind of suffering is accumulated that causes the noble ones to become weary of samsara? If ordinary beings could directly experience it, then in that very instant, this flesh and blood body would perish in a hundred ways. Because of when one will realize this, one is exceedingly delighted in samsara, like dealing with an enemy concealed by the guise of a friend. The noble ones firmly hold the thought of benefiting all sentient beings with the suffering of samsara. This is because they possess gratitude, the methods of great compassion, and the power, so they do not cease the work of benefiting others because of weariness. Therefore, there is no need to fear that they will be utterly destroyed. But ordinary beings, because they are associated with the view of the destructible aggregates and lack the practice of antidotes, if they fully understand the suffering of samsara, they will surely be destroyed into minute particles. Like being possessed by a demon, or like a child controlled by power. Some are possessed by a demon, but they have not seen that demon. They think, 'If such suffering occurs even without seeing that demon for a moment, if I were to see it, my body would be utterly destroyed like dust in the palm of my hand.' Again, just as the young leader Sena, infatuated with power, gave up his life to regain power, so too, if childlike ordinary beings were to comprehend the suffering of samsara, they would completely abandon all existence out of fear, thereby utterly perishing and attaining liberation. Here it is said: How do the Buddhas know the consequences of evil? If a child were to understand it in that way, they would faint in that instant. Furthermore, if this samsara is capable of acting on things and is able to change, thereby becoming happy, then upon careful examination, beings without conceit are rare, and those with conceit have no compassion. Therefore, it is said that the transition from appearance to appearance is extremely difficult to obtain. One has not obtained the object for experiencing happiness.
