Please listen with compassion. Thus it is said. Just as a middle son of a strong man sells himself, so too do laborers and others sell themselves to survive. Here it is said, if it is shameful to give up one's life for wealth, then should one also resort to evil to protect one's own life? It should be said thus, to offer oneself as collateral, why commit sinful deeds? Undoubtedly, you are like the wise, without any attachment to me. Here, just as some who are fond of alcohol, even allow themselves to be cut open to drink only the intoxicating juice. Disregarding one's future suffering, whether caused by poverty or being controlled by others, likewise, why do you, out of attachment to this illusory world, disregard the intense suffering of hell and the like, and offer yourself there, thereby committing sinful deeds? I think you are like an Arhat, without cause, without any attachment to me. This is not reasonable, therefore, for one's own benefit, one should not do evil, just as a prostitute sells a swindler, or a drunkard is caught. Some swindlers frolic with prostitutes, and there, the previously accumulated wealth is exhausted, so that they cannot give her anything. At some point, she bore two sons, and not long after, there was a merchant's house there. Then, she said to the swindler, these two children will bear other children as well, for the sake of ridicule, let's sell these two children to other merchants, and he did so. Then, the merchant set off to return to his own country, and the prostitute said to the swindler, I am leaving to be a maid in the merchant's house, you hold the two children, let the younger son bathe and feed him, and the swindler said, I am staying as a maid in the merchant's house, you hold the two children, let the younger one bathe and feed him, and so, she held the chil

Taking two (people) and staying in a remote place, the next day, the merchant customer tied up the swindler and returned to his hometown. Similarly, foolish people harm themselves and do evil deeds. Its consequences can only be borne by oneself. Also, some people without money go to taverns, saying they will pay, and drink a lot of wine, but end up with no money, and are caught and questioned by the tavern people. Those who hope to live long sell themselves for immediate benefits and engage in evil deeds, sacrificing themselves for the suffering of the next life, which should be condemned again. So-called living is nothing more than a moment of thought. People do not understand this principle, so few people understand themselves. Because thoughts move faster than the target, it is not difficult to understand that thoughts disappear in an instant. For example, when reciting letters such as A quickly, the time and form of each letter are different, so it can be understood that the time and form of the thought focused on it are also different. From the difference in time and form, it can also be concluded that the thought is instantaneous. The so-called instant refers to the ultimate state of time passing. A strong person snaps his fingers and sixty-five instants pass. Such an instant is the instant of consciousness. Just as consciousness is instantaneous, all formations are also instantaneous like the mind. Because all formations disappear immediately after they arise without any hindrance, and impermanence itself only depends on the moment of arising. Therefore, for any sentient being, there is no life longer than an instant. Therefore, since the nature of all conditioned phenomena is such, it is unreasonable for some people to hope to live long, to promise to engage in evil deeds and approach worldly things in order to enjoy worldly pleasures for a very long time. If this is unreasonable, then how should the world operate? It should be said, because of the continuity of conditioned phenomena.
