If I lose, please clearly impose the penalty! The king said: You lost because you ate the leather, isn't it? He said: You ministers and attendants, listen! Because they are born as animals, they do not know what is edible and what is not. Even if only I ate it for a while, this is not the behavior of those guardians, but my behavior. What fault do the people in the country, city, and village have? That was eaten by one person, not by everyone. The king also did not order to punish everyone without measuring it. Therefore, does this law also apply to humans? Or does it not apply? If it does not apply to them, then it would be too unfair. Then, the king was pleased by those touching and wonderful human words, pacified the damage caused by the dog, and also inclined towards the Dharma. Therefore, such a thing that seems lowly even among the lowly is extremely difficult for Bodhisattvas to do, because their nature is to be easily pleasing without any reason. The word "also" here refers to all supernormal powers. Therefore, in order to benefit sentient beings, Bodhisattvas fully possess the five supernormal powers, and wherever they are born in the animal realm, they should tell the stories of the previous lives of partridges, parrots, pigeons, etc., in order to understand their ascetic practices. Here it says: In order to fully mature all sentient beings, one should abandon the accumulation of merit, and be reborn in the lower realms with compassion. This action is the ascetic practice of the noble ones. In order to see immeasurable qualities, one should also generate faith in the Bodhisattva, just like this: Through skillful means, whatever merit is accumulated in one lifetime, the merit accumulated for an extremely long time, the Tathagata also said, cannot be measured by the all-knowing ones. In order to show the greatness accumulated in countless eons, it is said "extremely long time." In order to practice all the causes that can generate merit, even a little, through body, speech, and mind, it is said "one lifetime." Skillful means is

The cause of being able to accomplish even what is extremely difficult to accomplish without effort is the understanding of the proximate cause. Therefore, the power of skill in means is immeasurable, and the merit accumulated without interruption for countless thousands of eons is as limitless as the sky, so that even the all-knowing cannot measure it, let alone others? It is like the residue of a child's cycle of rebirth. Just as the cycle of rebirth of a child is limitless, so too are the roots of virtue of a Bodhisattva limitless, because they possess great compassion, time is limitless, methods are limitless, and sentient beings are limitless. Here it is said: Who can measure the ocean with water drops, Mount Meru with mustard seeds, and the earth with a small amount of land, but cannot measure the qualities of a Bodhisattva. Here it is said: And why is it that in the Jataka tales and so on, the qualities of the Bodhisattva, which have become the treasure of all jewels, are also proclaimed so pleasingly as the sound of giving, and not for any other reason. It should be proclaimed: death, Dharma, and other existences, are clarified by the sound of giving. Therefore, for a Bodhisattva, the sound of giving is always pleasing. Among them, "དོ་" refers to cutting off, and "ད་" refers to giving. Thus, explaining the sound of giving separately as these two word roots is to clarify its death. Therefore, in order to accord with the mind of renunciation, the sound of giving is pleasing to the Bodhisattvas. When "ད་ཎ་" is giving, and "ཌུད་ཉ་" is giving, in that case, it expresses giving, therefore the Dharma is proclaimed. Giving also has three forms: material, fearlessness, and Dharma giving. Among them, material giving is the perfection of giving. Fearless giving is the perfection of ethics and the perfection of patience. Dharma giving is the perfections of meditation and wisdom. Diligence is universally needed, so it appears in all three. Thus, because it is an expression of the Dharma, the sound of giving is pleasing. When "དེང་" refers to guarding.
