And especially not to serve them, but to follow the disciple in order to subdue them. Some will become gurus, and for those who recognize their own shortcomings, they are guided by showing the difference by establishing their status as gurus. Therefore, like this: with various skillful means of wisdom, the unenlightened beings are made to awaken. Being skilled in various skillful means, distinguishing with immeasurable differences of thought, thereby subduing in a way that is suitable to the nature of beings, just like a great doctor performing oil therapy and light therapy. Just as a great doctor does not perform oil therapy on all patients without exception, but also performs light therapy on some, bodhisattvas also promise to be disciples to some, and to others as gurus. Here it is said: Great bodhisattvas become disciples, or become doctors, or become Brahma and Ishvara, with these different identities, they subdue groups of beings. As the Bhagavan said: becoming the head of the village and the charioteer, becoming the head of the caravan, householder and king, becoming ministers, leaders and messengers, becoming wise doctors who are proficient in the ways of the scriptures, and so on. Therefore, bodhisattvas grow due to the complete maturation of beings, and the differences in their powers also increase. Just as a wise doctor: patients with difficult to treat conditions are rare, after the bodhisattva gains strength: beings who are difficult to subdue are extremely rare. Just as a wise doctor removes thorns, thinking that they cannot be cured, and does not abandon any patient, the power of skillful means gradually increases, knowing the superior and non-superior faculties of beings, and being skilled in the objects of gathering, when observing all beings to be subdued, he does not abandon any, but like their faults and dependencies, he creates the seeds of virtue for the sake of thorough subduing, and these seeds are transmitted from one doctor to another, eventually subduing them in the future, just like using sandalwood water, and the master Nagarjuna treating the prince. Just as a wise doctor with sandalwood water

Just as a disease that is difficult to cure in a wealthy person is pacified with medicine. For Bodhisattvas who have attained great power, beings who are difficult to tame and difficult to heal are also extremely rare. Just as the teacher Nagarjuna knew that the king's son's mental illness was caused by desire for women, which all doctors did not know, and pacified it. Bodhisattvas can also completely understand the thoughts and habits of sentient beings, thereby pacifying the disease of affliction of all sentient beings. It is said here: Skilled in understanding the faculties of beings, Because of completely understanding skillful means, Therefore, for Bodhisattvas, Sentient beings who are difficult to tame are extremely rare. Like this, for the land of a Bodhisattva who has attained special powers, If someone, without being urged, Falls into the lower realms, then he Will be blamed by other wise ones. If someone is urged and reminded, they will not fall into the lower realms, therefore, for a Bodhisattva who has vowed to benefit all sentient beings, if they do not urge and remind, then the Bodhisattva who has broken their vow will be scolded by other Bodhisattvas. Therefore, in order not to be blamed, we should urge the sentient beings in our own land by teaching the Dharma appropriately. Just like a great merchant who leads beings by achieving goals and happiness. Just like if someone suffers because of being helpless, then the great merchant

Those who are thirsty and parched, with lips, tongue, palate, and cheeks dried up, to those afflicted by afflictions, begging, helpless, weak, and suffering, one should give with compassion. Therefore, Bodhisattvas should not be greedy for food, but from the very beginning, they should desire compassion for all beings. It is like robbing a blind person of their possessions, or killing for the sake of shoes. If someone robs a blind person of their wealth from afflictions, without compassion, what other unwholesome deeds would they not do? Similarly, if someone has no compassion even for others who are in danger, how could they compassionately give away the wealth accumulated through much suffering to those who are helpless? Similarly, if someone kills for the sake of worn-out shoes, how could they not kill for the sake of other possessions, or give even a little to others? Here it is said: One who regards all beings as their own child, who has strong compassion for all, for the sake of their perfect enlightenment, is able to give to the helpless. If Bodhisattvas, being under the influence of great compassion, are determined to work for the benefit of beings until the end of samsara, then what is to be said of those who are sickened by the suffering of discrimination and hate them greatly? It should be said: For the sake of benefiting beings, someone remains in the world, even those who are neutral to them will be ruined, what need is there to say about those who hate? If someone strives to accomplish the perfection of all sentient beings in the ultimate realm of nirvana without remainder, becoming an unsurpassed treasure, a field of merit, even those who remain neutral towards that Bodhisattva, if they are temporarily ruined because they have not accumulated special merit through giving, drawing, serving, and so on, what need is there to mention those who have become hateful due to faults of mind and so on? They will surely be ruined and utterly destroyed by suffering hundreds of thousands of times in the lower realms. Therefore, abandoning the neutral attitude of disrespect towards him,
