Those lands, too, from softness and so on, until death, say, "We are happy." Here it is said: Whoever dies again and again, that is not happiness; wherever there is always the root of disease, that is not genuine; wherever ruin is always in front, that is not wealth; whoever accumulates in an improper way, that is not treasure. Being seized at all times by the unerring Lord of Death, there is not even the slightest chance of happiness, not only that, but also, for the most part, causes of suffering other than that arise without hindrance, therefore it is not reasonable to regard suffering as happiness. Like this: For embodied beings, harm from hunger and so on will always exist, being harmed, to say it is happiness, is not reasonable in any way. The cause of suffering, harming the body, is hunger, thirst, cold, heat, disease, and so on, those factors that are always near, continuously harming without interruption, how could that be happiness? Like a daughter-in-law striving for the sake of the family's interests. Some daughters-in-law strive for the sake of the family's power. Then, the mother-in-law will surely impose this and that on her, and then, that one who previously dressed and adorned herself very carefully, is extremely miserable for things done and not done. Similarly, the world is always suffering because of the root of suffering from hunger and thirst and so on, and from seeking thirst and so on, the idea of happiness is inverted. Here it is said: If the king's attendants are like thieves, and suffering always destroys the body, then, how could the holy ones here consider it happiness? Here it is said: Even if happiness does not exist by nature, even so, happiness exists through aggregation. What needs to be explained is: Because of lack of ability, for all things, aggregation is called arising, to say that contradictory things are happiness, is not reasonable in any way. Here, happiness and suffering both depend on the body, and that body arises from the aggregation of the great elements such as earth. Each of the great elements does not have the ability to directly accomplish the body, therefore they will aggregate. Like this, if there is no earth in the soft state

If it transforms, then at that time it will not hold the three elements. Therefore, if it becomes something slippery that falls, then it is also held by the earth element. If the water element does not exist, then at that time it will not become the nature of a lump. Because it is held by the water element, it becomes the nature of a lump; otherwise, like sand, it will not gather from individual dust particles into a high nature. If the fire element does not exist, then at that time the slippery thing will rot. Because it is dried by the fire element, it will not rot. If the wind element does not exist, then the slippery thing will not grow, expand, and widen. Because of the wind element, it will also grow. Thus, if any one is missing, the others will not have the power to manifest the body. Therefore, all elements will gather. Those great elements also harm each other. For example, the earth element enters to hinder the movement of the wind element, and the wind element strives to scatter the earth element. The water element harms the fire element, and the fire element strives to dry up the water element. Thus, these great elements are mutually contradictory, and contradiction is also the cause of suffering arising in one body. Therefore, there is no opportunity for happiness, and the body is entirely of the nature of suffering. It is like six animals bound by one rope, and the suffering caused by the gathering of four wives. Just as horses, jackals, snakes, birds, wild animals, and crocodiles (killing children) that are mutually contradictory and behave differently are tied to one rope, even if they gather together, because of contradiction, there is no happiness. Here it is said: Those who are contradictory and live under the same roof will not be happy. Just like that, even if they gather together, because of contradiction, the elements will also not have happiness. Just like four incompatible wives, one of them is always full of resentment, another is always smoking, another is always angry, and the fourth is always crazy. These are combined by the master, and the body...
