Having seen this, the elephant driver no longer suffered. Then, fear caused him to feel uneasy. Also, a humble second man was ordered by the king to strike the elephant, but he was unable to do so. The king then inflicted corporal punishment on him, and the driver was completely delighted. Thus, one had mental suffering, and the other had physical suffering. Similarly, for great ones, contempt causes mental suffering, while for humble ones, beatings cause physical suffering. Here: The world that destroys two sufferings, From seeing the dangerous nature of suffering, Who would say that is happiness? Who is the compassionate sage? It will become like this. Here it is said: Although there are two sufferings, Even so, they are not perceived because they are overwhelmed by great happiness. It should be explained: How can happiness have greatness? Because it also depends on the concept of dharma being dominated by suffering, because it is the cause of entering. Like this: Happiness is dominated by concept, Concept is dominated by suffering, Therefore, in all things, There is nothing more powerful than suffering. When this person thinks, "I am the giver, I am rich, I am the enjoyer of pleasant and unpleasant things in the realm of the senses," at that time, this complete thought brings mental happiness. Even if happiness is attained, the subsequent mental happiness will be reversed by the thought of the cessation of enjoyment due to the fear of harm from others. Thus, since the arising and ceasing of happiness depends entirely on concept, happiness is dominated by concept. Suffering is not like that, because there is no concept that can prevent the harmful power of suffering. Therefore, suffering is not dominated by concept like happiness. Furthermore, the happiness of enjoying pleasant objects, and the concept that is consistent with the arising of happiness, both of these will be destroyed by the proximity of suffering. Like this

Even when enjoying prosperity in the land of Ravangbo, when overwhelmed by any suffering, all happiness is abandoned along with imagination, and only suffering is experienced separately, not happiness. Therefore, since the imagination of happiness depends on suffering, only suffering is more powerful, not happiness, just as one feels pain when a concubine's son is honored. Of two women, one had a son who had died, and the other had a son. When the one whose son had died saw the concubine's son being honored and adorned, she became very distressed. When asked why she was distressed even for the one who had already died, she said, "I am not crying for him, but I am distressed for this living son of the concubine." Later, when the concubine's son became ill, she went to another village. After a few days, she approached the edge of that village, and then a corpse appeared. She fully speculated, "That concubine's son has died." Having fully speculated in this way, she felt very happy, so much so that sin struck her limbs. Therefore, the happiness that arose in her due to the power of imagination was overwhelmed by the suffering of poison. Therefore, nowhere is there anything more powerful than suffering. It is said like this: "Because it arises from reversal, happiness is very rare. Because suffering arises from truth, it is very powerful." Here it is said: "Even if happiness is very difficult to obtain, it does not cause harm, so it is the master of the body. Suffering, although plentiful, becomes something else because it causes harm." It should be said: "As time passes, suffering increases. Therefore, happiness appears as something other than this body." The body's infancy, youth, adulthood, and old age—as time passes, suffering is seen to increase manifestly, not happiness. Because happiness is increasingly distant from the body that grows in this way, while suffering is increasingly near.

Due to accumulation, suffering seems to be the master of this body, while happiness turns into something else, like walking a long road. Just as when walking a long road, the suffering of fatigue and the suffering of running out of provisions become very intense day by day. Similarly, every child, the longer they live, the more they experience the suffering of aging and become closer to death. Here it is said: Because attachment is like suffering, it goes forward, forward. Like others, the body's happiness, here, therefore turns into something else. Here it is said: Because even if this body inherently has the nature of suffering, nevertheless, because it is bound by the cause of happiness, one should not be weary of my body. It should be said: There are many causes of suffering, diseases and other changes in phenomena. For people, the causes of happiness are not apparent. Here, the causes of suffering in the body, arising from the inner nature, are diseases caused by imbalances of the elements. Others, arising from external causes such as cold, are undesirable tactile sensations. As many as there are such causes, that many causes of happiness, both internal and external, are not apparent in this body. Because the causes of happiness in the body are few, and the causes of suffering are many, therefore, because there are causes of happiness, one should not be weary of suffering, which is not true. Just as a king's daughter strives for her own household, and the daughter of Vaishravana's son nurses from me. Those who strive for their own household rather than for the king's daughter will be associated with suffering. That is only one cause of happiness, not all. Even if one strives for many, one cannot obtain them. Therefore, one will be filled with suffering. Similarly, for sentient beings, the causes of suffering are many, while the causes of happiness are few. Similarly, by snatching the daughter of Vaishravana's son, nursing from me, there will be many causes of suffering, while the causes of happiness are not like that, like two.
