If, when these two cannot coexist, by negating one of them, one can realize that they are not one, this has actually been expressed through meaning. Therefore, according to the order: existence and non-existence, as well as both existence and non-existence, and neither existence nor non-existence, the wise should constantly apply these to oneness, etc. If things are negated only through oneness and otherness, etc., or through other means, it should be said: existence and non-existence, as well as both existence and non-existence, and neither existence nor non-existence, the wise should constantly apply these to oneness, etc. Existence and non-existence, as well as both existence and non-existence, and neither existence nor non-existence, the wise should constantly apply these to the four aspects of oneness, etc. Among them, the so-called "existence" means "having." The so-called "non-existence" means "not having." The so-called "both existence and non-existence" means "both having and not having." The so-called "neither existence nor non-existence" means "neither having nor not having." The so-called "oneness, etc." refers to oneness and otherness, as well as both and neither. If, for two or more, it becomes oneness or otherness, both or neither, then, according to some, cloth and white are one, which is a position, and for this position, the mode of "existence" should be applied to place, time, and characteristics. First, from the perspective of place, if cloth and white are one, then wherever there is white, there should be cloth; wherever there is cloth, there should be white. If wherever there is white, there is no cloth, and wherever there is cloth, there is no white, then the view that cloth and white are one is unreasonable because the places are different. It is the same from the perspective of time. There are three kinds of time, namely, the past.

Past, future, and present. Among them, for the past, one can only see the previously produced white in the state of the past. If cloth and white are the same, then, if white is produced first, cloth must also be produced first. If cloth is produced later, white must also be produced later. If white is produced first, then cloth is produced later. Those that are produced first and those that are produced later will not be the same, because the order of production is different. Furthermore, if cloth and white become the same, then, when white is destroyed, cloth must also be destroyed, and when cloth is destroyed, white must also be destroyed. However, when white is destroyed, white will be destroyed, but cloth will not be destroyed; when cloth is destroyed, only cloth will be destroyed, but white will not be destroyed. Therefore, it is not correct to say that cloth and white are the same, because destruction and non-destruction are different. Furthermore, when one says "white," one will only say the word "white," and will not say the word "cloth"; when one says "cloth," one will also only say the word "cloth," and will not say the word "white." Because one will only say the word "white," and will not say the word "cloth," and when one says "cloth," one will also only say the word "cloth," and not white, therefore they will not be the same, because saying and not saying are different. It is also like this from the perspective of characteristics. Here, the characteristic is the nature of white, and the characterized is cloth. If these two become the same, then, if white is the characteristic, cloth can only be the characteristic. If cloth is not the characteristic, then white is also not the characteristic. If only white is the characteristic, and not cloth, and only cloth is the characterized, and not white, then it is not correct to say that cloth and white are the same, because the characteristic and the characterized are different. Just as the sameness of cloth and white has been refuted, so it is with things.

The refutation of the oneness of all things should also be elaborated. Here it is said that if refuting the oneness of coarse cloth and white, then it should be explained as otherness. It should be explained that if coarse cloth and white are other, and if because merit depends on matter, white does not become coarse cloth, then just as if offering and god-given are not brothers, god-given will not become the brother of offering, coarse cloth will not become white either. If it is thought that because of having white, coarse cloth becomes white, then it should also be explained that if because of having white, coarse cloth becomes white, then does this coarse cloth obtain the characteristic of white by having white, or does it not obtain it? If it obtains the characteristic of white, therefore the coarse cloth itself becomes white, then this coarse cloth itself will disappear. If it does not obtain the characteristic of white, then because it does not obtain the characteristic of white, even if it has white, coarse cloth will not become white. Therefore, the statement that coarse cloth is white because it has white is unreasonable. Just as coarse cloth will not become white, the various characteristics of coarse cloth, such as blue, yellow, red, orange, yellowish-white, pigeon-colored, black, long, short, soft, and rough, etc., because coarse cloth is other, it is impossible to exist in all cases. Because it is impossible to exist in all cases, it will not become coarse cloth itself either. Just as coarse cloth will not become coarse cloth itself, all things also cannot exist in all cases because the characteristics of those merits are other. Here it is said that for the oneness and otherness of existence and non-existence, the refutation should also be stated for both views. It should be explained that for the view that coarse cloth and white become both oneness and otherness, the refutation of oneness and otherness previously stated has fully explained the refutation. For the case that is not both, the refutation should be briefly stated. If
