It is not said that the manifested consciousness is like an illusion. Therefore, consciousness is without inherent existence. When the consciousness of any dharma is without inherent existence, the perception that corresponds to the consciousness without inherent existence also abides in being without inherent existence. The Blessed One said: Perfect wisdom is meaningful, In attachment, perception is surely shown, That perception is also without attachment, Shown by the meaning of detachment. Whatever is detached is also perception, Whatever is detached is what is shown, Thus contemplating that meaning, Therefore, this perception will not arise. This perception is also thought to be abandoned, In whom this perception arises, Will engage in the play of perception, And will not be liberated from perception. Where does this perception ultimately arise? Who will prevent this perception? In whom perception will arise, That dharma has not been attained by the Buddha. Thus contemplating that meaning, From this, perception will not arise. Thus he spoke. Here it is said: Since the senses cannot possibly grasp objects, but relying on the eye and form, eye consciousness also arises, this is truly amazing! It should be said: Is this the only amazing thing? From seeds that have ceased and are ceasing, sprouts should not arise, but relying on seeds, sprouts also grow; similarly, actions that have been done and accumulated, after ceasing, have passed for a very long time, even though they do not exist at any time, nevertheless, from actions that have ceased and passed through countless eons, actual results will arise; and things like pots, from their own causes, when examined in five ways as being the same or different, although they do not exist, even so, by relying on and observing, they are able to hold honey, water, and milk, etc., what is so amazing about this? Therefore, if it is like that, When one surpasses the wise, There is nothing that is not amazing, At that time, such understanding of the senses, What is there to say is amazing? Results are seen to follow their own causes, for example, a cow arises from a cow, a horse arises from a horse, rice arises from rice, etc. But for the great elements and things like form and sound, this way is not reasonable. For example, the great elements

Those appearances are perceptible by the body's senses, not by hearing. Among these, form is perceptible by the eyes, and what is perceptible by hearing, the "arising of hair," is said to be supremely wondrous. Similarly, this should also be applied to objects such as the nose and senses such as the eyes. Alternatively, the understanding of objects by the senses is not the cause of wonder. If this wonder were to arise solely from the understanding of objects by the senses, then it would become a place of wonder. When, as previously stated, for the wise, all beings are like illusions, the cause of wonder, then this is no longer wondrous. To perceive something that should not exist as existing in some aspect is what causes wonder. But not all things have the same essence. For example, the heat of fire is not the cause of wonder. Because of this, since its own essence is not fixed, it changes according to the circumstances. For the wise: Fire wheel, illusion, and dream, Magic, water moon, and echo, Mare's mirage, cloud, and sentient beings, Are like non-existence, quickly turning. Although seen as a cause of confusion, That wheel appearance has no self-nature. Just as the women who arise from the cause of illusory samadhi, those women who exist, for those with desire, become the cause of affliction. And the Buddhas, by the power of illusory samadhi, the Buddhas who are emanated, whose own essence is neither existent nor non-existent, those who are separated from the nature of the Buddha, like the true Buddhas, when destroying the darkness of the minds of all beings, become the cause of the path to heaven and liberation for sentient beings. But those things that are separated from mind and mental factors are not truly existent. Just as the object of the awakened self, similar to sleep, having the cause of the object of the self associated with consciousness, the object of the self in a dream, clinging to the self is the cause of inversion. When awakened, that
