Because of thus accepting the self-nature of things. Moreover, apart from the two distinctions of existence and non-existence, one cannot observe in any other way. Therefore, for these two opponents, for the time being, for those who say that the result exists, for the sake of the house, the decorations of pillars and thresholds, and the arrangement of decorations such as banners and birds, which have this characteristic, that is not permissible. Because its result is the existence of the house. If one promises to establish it in another way, one will also fall into the fault of saying that the result does not exist. For those who say that the result does not exist, then how to talk about the decorations of pillars and so on becomes unnecessary, because its result does not exist. The son of a barren woman does not exist, and no one can establish it. Similarly, for those who say that the result does not exist, the result, the house, will not be established. If one wants to avoid this fault and does not promise that the result does not exist in all aspects, then the statement that the result does not exist will fail. Just as the decoration of pillars and so on is unreasonable in order to establish a house of existence and non-existence, after examining existence and non-existence, for all internal and external things, such as sprouts and constructions, one should also connect the cause, such as seeds and ignorance, meaninglessly. In whose view things have no self-nature, then in all aspects the existence of things themselves is non-existent, therefore, distinctions such as existence and non-existence and the basis of the Dharma of things are impossible, therefore there is no opportunity for the faults that have been spoken of, and everything will be established. Whatever is produced does not exist before it is produced, because it has no self-nature, and production is meaningless. It is also not non-existent, because it has no self-nature, and production is impossible. Therefore, in that case, the wise should abandon the two extremes and accept dependent origination. Therefore, it is established that things have no self-nature. In this way, for the time being, the past and the future do not exist as established by their own nature. Here it is said: You have blocked the past and future times,

Thus, for the moment, the present exists, and because it exists, the future will also exist. The objects of the future state are completely transformed, thus becoming the present. If they do not transform, then what is completely transformed to become the present? Therefore, because the present exists, the future exists. It should be said that if complete transformation itself exists, then such a transforming thing is also non-existent. Why? Here, this complete transformation, when contemplating the meaning of the future, does it contemplate with its own nature disappearing, or does it contemplate with it abiding? If, for the moment, it is because its own nature disappears, then at that time, one ceases and another arises, which is complete transformation. Therefore, only birth and cessation can be called complete transformation. The transformation of the nature of an abiding thing, the arising of another dharma, is not complete transformation. If our complete transformation is only of this kind, like, for example, the substance of cow's milk, the transformation of the abiding nature, the arising of another substance of milk, and the arising of another dharma of cheese, is complete transformation. Likewise, the three qualities—dust, darkness, and vigor—with the transformation of the future state and the arising of the present state, is complete transformation. If one thinks like this, then this complete transformation cannot be established as existent. The world perceives these three qualities of the future as existent, and does not perceive their complete transformation. Nor can it be established that cheese is a transformation of milk. In the state of milk itself, when milk is called milk, in the milk that abides only in the state of milk, there is also no substance of cheese. If it exists, then only milk can be called cheese, which is also unreasonable. Therefore, there is no substance of cheese in milk. When there is no substance of cheese in milk, then in what else does it exist? Therefore, there is no complete transformation. Apart from the states of milk and cheese, there is also not even a slight contemplation of the substance of cow's milk. Thus, the complete transformation of things is also of the mind...
