If, for a future pot, the present and the past do not exist, then the present and the past will also become future because of the future. Just as the future is future from the future in the present, so too the present and the past will become future because of the future. If it is said that the present is future from the future, but the future is not future from the future, then this is not so. If the future exists, then the present and the past can be established. When the future itself does not exist, how can the past or the present arise? Considering this, the teacher asserts that the future does not exist, therefore he says: Because those two are future, therefore the future does not exist. Because both of those are future, all three will become future. If all three are future, then the present and the past are impossible, so where can the future be distinguished from the future? Therefore, future time does not exist. If, for a future pot, the past pot is not completely non-existent, but exists in the essence of the future pot, then, even if a different past is established because it exists in the future, you think that only the future exists, then, even so, if destruction exists in the essence of the future, then how can that which exists in the nature of the future become the past? If you think that the past exists in the future pot as the future itself, then at that time this should not be the past, because according to your view, it exists in the future, just like the nature of the future itself. Therefore, the same fault will occur again. Also, what is the future thing? Does it exist with you or not? It is said: Because it exists in the essence of the future, it is considered to be the future. If that is the case, then this will no longer be the future. Why? Because the future thing, if it transforms into existing in the nature of the future, then it will become the present, and it can no longer be the future. For anything that exists in the present, it is the present.

Having become so. Because it exists now, it is like the self-nature of the present. If it does not exist as the self-nature of the present, but rather as the self-nature of the future, therefore, because there is no present existence, if one thinks that only the future exists, then it should be said: Whatever the self-nature of something is, it exists in that self-nature and becomes the present. For example, blue exists as the self-nature of blue and becomes the present, but not as the self-nature of yellow. Similarly, the future also becomes the present when it exists as the self-nature of the future, therefore it is not possible to assert that the future exists. When the future is impossible, one should consider what will become the past or the present. Therefore, the three times do not exist. To those of their own schools who assert that things have their own characteristics, and because they exist in all three times, the only thing that does not abandon its self-nature, through the collection of causes and conditions, will become that state, to those who say this, it should be said: The future exists, the past exists, what then is the present? By what means does everything exist at all times? From where does its impermanence come? By what means does this thing that becomes the present, its self-nature that appears in the mind, also acknowledge the opponent in the future state and the past state, where is there any impermanence? Therefore, things are inherently permanent, so they will only become permanent. If this is so, then it will also contradict the scriptures. The Bhagavan said: Alas! All conditioned things are impermanent, they are of the nature of arising and ceasing. Having arisen, they will perish, those who are pacified are happy. Just as the future cannot exist, so the future does not exist, in order to show that the past also cannot exist, so the past does not exist, therefore it is said: From the past that has passed, why does it become the past? From the past that has not passed, why does it become the past? Any past period, has it passed from its own nature of the past? Or has it not passed? For the moment, if it has passed from the past, then it should not be called the past.
