I create. Therefore, through virtuous, non-virtuous, or immovable actions, in the three realms of desire, form, and formlessness, which are divided by differences such as caste, realm, and place of birth, one obtains a continuous stream of births that are in accordance with one's actions. This stream is infinitely diverse and becomes the cause for experiencing the fruits of happiness and suffering. That is the manifest creator and also the individual experiencer, and it also becomes killing, harming, touching, binding, and liberation. Therefore, it is asserted that the self exists by its own nature. Furthermore, does this self transform in other lives following the different forms of the body? Or does it not? If it does not follow and transform, then what is the use of this complete imputation of a self that does not do anything at all? If it does follow and transform, then at that time, you must: The born and the being, the person, will transform like the body. Therefore, for you, that is different from the body, self-nature and permanence are not reasonable. This is not different from the body, because it follows the transformation of the body, like a part of the body. It is also not permanent, because it is not different from the body, like the self-nature of the body. Therefore, it is not reasonable to cling to it as a self, because for those whose nature is to perish moment by moment, there is no abiding, and in order to experience the fruits of actions, one understands the self as permanent. When the self as permanent is not reasonable, at that time, one must certainly affirm all actions and results, etc., only in this continuum of conditioned phenomena, which perishes moment by moment. Here it is said, if the self does not establish itself by its own nature, then at that time, who will be the agent of the body's movements, such as contraction and extension? A chariot without a driver will not move, therefore, just as the chariot has a driver like Devadatta, one must affirm some internal agent, a person, as the cause of the body's movements. To show that this is also unreasonable, it is said: From a non-touching object, the so-called impetus does not arise, therefore, for the actions of the body, life does not become the agent. The chariot...

Because things without touch cannot drive anything, only things with touch can drive it. The "self" that you have fully examined is also without touch, because it is often without a body, so it cannot touch anything, and it is not touch in any sense. When this is the case, it can be inferred that this existence is due to the cause of bodily movement itself, but how can swelling arise from this non-tactile thing being driven? Furthermore, this "self" is non-tactile because it has no direction. Whatever has no direction has no combination, and whatever has no combination has no drive, so it is not reasonable to assert its existence merely by being related to that action. If it is like that, the mind should not be the cause of bodily movement either, then you will also make the same mistake, won't you? Apart from the mind, for walking etc., because merits etc. are not seen, therefore for all actions, the mind should be regarded as important. As mentioned earlier. Therefore, if the accusation is made because the fault is the same, then this refutation is unreasonable, and it should be explained as follows: I have not admitted that the mind is without touch. Like this, because of the characteristic of mutual touch between objects, faculties, and consciousnesses, and because there are dharmas arising from the mind, consciousness is only related to the body and is the cause of bodily movement. You have not admitted that the "self" is tactile, so the situation is different. Alternatively, I can consider that the mind is the root cause of the arising of all things, so the wind element caused by it is tactile, and when it drives, the body arises and moves in that way. Here, it is also said in the Madhyamakavatara: "From the action of intention and effort, the arising wind can reach other places, and continuous arising is like a lamp, which is called the transfer of consciousness of the practitioner." If this difference is also considered for the "self", then it should be admitted that it is momentary, because for permanent dharmas, there can be no such difference due to the absence of change.
