If one thinks in this way, that if it were so, the characteristic of the self-nature of things would be cut off, and one would pass away in a state of peace, then it would not be a complete understanding of conditioned phenomena. If one wants this, although it is said that there is no fault, this is not reasonable. Like this, if one must directly realize cessation by merely seeing that, then such a cessation does not exist when the aggregates have not ceased. And after they have ceased, there is no one, so to whom does that cessation become directly realized? When the continuum of the aggregates exists, at the time of merely seeing that, there are noble beings such as Shariputra, so it is reasonable to say that cessation is directly realized. If at that time he sees something, then what becomes directly realized to him at that time? It is said: Even if one does not see, it is designated as directly realized by the consciousness of that consciousness. Others also show that other consciousnesses that appear as blue, etc., are also directly realized because they conform to the appearance of the self-nature of the object. There is also something similar to that in this, so there is no contradiction in saying that it is directly realized. When saying that the cessation of suffering is directly realized, since it has been admitted that the self-nature of things is the object of direct realization, then the non-existence of things cannot be known by directly realized consciousness. If one does not consider the cessation of suffering to be directly realized, then how does the truth of cessation become directly realized by the consciousness of cessation? Merely the non-arising of suffering cannot be the self-nature of things. Although one does not consider merely the non-arising of suffering to be cessation, one cannot show a cessation that is established by its own nature, which has become a different meaning from merely the non-arising of suffering. If one considers the consciousness of cessation, which is without outflows, to be directly realized, then in that case, it would not be directly realized. If the consciousness of cessation is directly realized, then at that time the cessation that is completely cut off by it has also ceased, so according to your tenets, direct realization itself is like not considering the consciousness of a pot to be directly realized, just as a pot cannot be directly realized like blue, etc., cessation will also not be directly realized. What is that which is taught by the masters of yogis, which arises from the teachings, which is not mixed with conceptual thought, which is uniquely without imputation of an object, and which sees only the meaning?

Furthermore, liberation is impossible. Whatever exists as a self-characteristic entity, if it is familiarized with the general characteristic, it is said that wisdom arising from gradual meditation will arise. Since the object grasped by that non-discriminating wisdom is also a nature without superimposition, it is only a self-characteristic. In this way, if impermanence itself is understood, then the mere entity that is empty of beginning and end is understood. Therefore, that is also the self-characteristic of the object, just like the consciousness that focuses on blue and so on, it is directly perceived. However, if analyzed, since it has been admitted that self-characteristic and general characteristic are different, then the object of the nature accomplished by the yoga of meditating on the aspect of the general characteristic should not be a self-characteristic, because that would be too extreme, so that statement is irrelevant. Even so, liberation does not have even a trace of the nature of the cessation of suffering, so how could it become the direct perception of liberation? Therefore, the scriptures say that knowing that suffering does not arise is direct perception, so it is impossible for consciousness to cause that unborn nature to arise, it will undoubtedly become an unborn state. Therefore, if consciousness is also an unborn nature like the object, then consciousness can enter as the object is. In the world, such a state is also called direct perception. For example, a guest sees from afar a place in front of him that looks like it is filled with a large amount of clear water, and wants to cross it, but is tired and unable, and afraid, so he asks a farmer who came from the field: How much water is there? The man said to him: Where is there water here? This thing that looks like water is a mirage. If you don't believe my words, go there and see, and my words will become direct perception. When he showed that there was no water, it was like saying that his words also became direct perception for the guest, so non-existence and non-apprehension are also called worldly direct perception, therefore, in terms of worldly conventional truth, there is no contradiction in calling the consciousness of non-apprehension direct perception.
