Those are to be known as those who are attached to desirable objects. If, like an illusory person, one sees beings as solitary, how can one be liberated from suffering? Because of wrong knowledge, the afflictions and faults that manifest as suffering are: discriminating between real and unreal. Those who understand the meaning do not arise. Thus it is said. Whoever regards beings as illusory does not perceive the self-nature of real and unreal as their essence, and thus fully knows real and unreal. Because they do not discriminate between the two, they are non-discriminating. For those who understand the meaning by dismantling real and unreal, whatever afflictions such as desire are, they will certainly not become the cause of samsara. Those afflictions arise for those who are manifestly afflicted by wrong knowledge. Those who are manifestly afflicted and have the nature of union are those who are manifestly afflicted. Being manifestly afflicted by wrong knowledge is being manifestly afflicted by wrong knowledge. Those who are inverted, having found attachment to objects, are tormented by afflictions. Those who understand the meaning do not have those, so they will certainly be liberated from suffering. Children, because they are inverted, are not suitable for liberation from suffering. Those who fully discriminate the state of detachment, how can there be attachment and non-attachment to the object of focus? For the noble ones, in this cycle of existence, If there is a place, there will be attachment and the perception of detachment. The great beings who have no place are neither attached nor detached. Whatever one is attached to is also an object of focus, and whatever one is not attached to is also an object of focus, so both attachment and non-attachment are possible. If one does not impute self-nature to real things, detachment will not arise. The noble ones do not perceive the self-nature of things, therefore they are without a place. Because there is no object of focus, they will certainly be liberated from suffering. Therefore, having thus analyzed, for those who are completely solitary, even the moving mind does not move. One can cross the unbearable ocean of existence, disturbed by the illusion of afflictions. Because the mind is naturally frivolous, like a monkey, for those who abide in the teachings regarding solitude, the emptiness of beings, etc., as objects of focus, can...

It is the ocean filled with the manifestations of afflictions, surpassing the object of focus. Now, in order to completely dedicate the merit of virtuous deeds, may all beings, through this virtue, accumulate the two accumulations of merit and wisdom, and may they attain the two supreme Dharmakayas arising from merit and wisdom. Thus it is said. In order to fully know all sentient realms other than wisdom and the cause of wisdom, all the immeasurable virtues cultivated are shown to be the accumulation of merit. Completely dedicating the wisdom and the cause of wisdom to attain Buddhahood, everything is the accumulation of wisdom. May all beings accumulate and draw near these two accumulations, and may they attain the unsurpassed excellence arising from merit and wisdom. Arising means being born. Those arising from merit and wisdom are those arising from merit and wisdom. What are those two? The Rupakaya and Dharmakaya. May we attain those two through this virtue. Having completely abandoned the fear arising from the causes of nagas, this lotus of reason is the moon that opens, having thoroughly destroyed the source of faults, it is beautiful with fame for beings who lack wisdom. Whatever accords with Dharma and does not contradict it, even if one says what that meaning is, because the Buddha does not say that it is a fault, I have no doubt about the correct understanding. Therefore, abandoning fear, I respectfully explained this Sixty Stanza Reasoning. Through this merit of explanation, may all sentient beings quickly attain the Great Sage. This commentary on the Sixty Stanza Reasoning was composed by the teacher Chandrakirti, the great Madhyamika teacher, born in the land of Samata. Destroying the darkness of all heretical and evil doctrines, the Tathagata, having abandoned the two extremes, in the midst of space, illuminated by the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking, cools all beings oppressed by the various torments of unreal abiding and perversion with the cool, stainless moonlight, is immeasurably famous. The commentary on the Sixty Stanza Reasoning composed by him is complete. Indian Khenpo Jinama
