Attachment is like a wheel that enables those who cannot stand to stand. This attachment does not exist. The root is the main cause, which is the cause of the arising, ceasing, and increasing of things that arise from it. For example, like the root of trees. Because there is no abiding, it is non-abiding. By saying abiding, attachment, the cause of arising, and non-abiding, it is said that wandering is not established. If these are the cause of the establishment of things, but these also have no wandering, therefore wandering is inverted. Among them, abiding is the six sense bases. Attachment is all dharmas, combining them accordingly. The root is the causal condition in the form of the dharma of seeds. By this it is made to abide, so it is abiding, because what is born from it abides. All these are interdependent arising, therefore they are without self-nature. As stated above: Whatever arises in dependence on that and that, that is not born as its own thing. Therefore, wandering separated from abiding and so on cannot exist. If wandering does not exist in this way, then how does one perceive its own nature as various? The noble ones do not perceive wandering as various, because for them, wandering is emptiness, with the same taste, so emptiness does not have various forms. Therefore, in order to show that children who are deluded by the sleep of ignorance and have become inverted have not awakened, and perceive various things as in a dream, it is said, "It arises truly from the cause of ignorance." This means that there is no self-nature established, and because there is ignorance, wandering is not established by self-nature, but is definitely produced from the cause of the seed of ignorance. In order to show how there is no self-nature established, it is said, "The beginning, middle, and end are completely abandoned," which is a synonym for being separated from birth, abiding, and destruction. Therefore, it also arises from the seed of ignorance, and like a water tree, it has no essence. If it does not arise from the seed of ignorance, then if examined, there would be a reason to perceive an essence, but if examined, conditioned phenomena are like a collection of water trees, without essence. Whatever has no essence,

Appearances arise from the power of delusion. Thus, beings arise from the seed of ignorance. Therefore, they also arise from the seed of ignorance, like a city of gandharvas. Just as a city of gandharvas appears to be real, but when examined, it is not so, therefore it is not a real city. Because when examined in that way, beings arising from the cause of the seed of ignorance are not established by their own nature. This is certainly a deluded, unlovely city. Beings appear like illusions. Because it is difficult to avert harm, and because it is obscured by darkness, it is difficult to recognize one's own nature. Beings are called unlovely, which is synonymous with unpleasant, without a place to breathe, and frightening. Therefore, this is seen as an illusion by those who are not inverted. The city of delusion for children is seen as an illusion by the noble ones, because it is the darkness of ignorance. Therefore, beings are not real, for example: Brahma and so on, this world, whatever is strongly proclaimed as true, the noble ones say that is also false. What remains other than that? Is there anything that is not like an illusion? This is the remaining meaning of the sentence. Completely cutting off the meaning of the senses transcending their objects, in the world, Brahma is the measure. Thus, for that which has become the measure, the self-nature of things appears to be true, but the noble ones say that is false. The Blessed One taught that only nirvana is the only truth. Since conditioned phenomena are false, of a deceiving nature, why would what appears to others not be false? For that which is undoubtedly false, what remains other than that? This is synonymous with there being nothing that is not like an illusion. This must be undoubtedly acknowledged. Otherwise, if Brahma and so on, and the noble ones, had the same view of this world, then the noble ones and the non-noble ones would become the same. In order to show that they cannot be the same, the world is not
