If one transcends it with the great ship of seeing emptiness, one will not be devoured by demons. Those who are destroyed by seeing emptiness are those who cannot comprehend dependent arising, who fall into the two extremes of arising and ceasing, and therefore will not be devoured by demons. Ordinary beings are those who possess substantial self, who are perverse in existence and non-existence, who are controlled by afflictions due to faults, and who are deceived by their own minds. Just as karma and afflictions arise separately, so they are ordinary beings. Those who grasp things as existing in themselves are those who possess substantial self, or those who grasp things as self are those who possess substantial self, because they grasp and focus on it. Or, those who are attached to the appearance of things are those who possess substantial self, and these people are controlled by afflictions because they themselves completely fabricate the perverse faults of existence and non-existence. These people will become attached to things that have become pleasing objects, and they will become angry with what is not, and so on, and should be connected in this way. Because they are controlled by afflictions, they engage in actions. If there is the taking of virtuous and non-virtuous actions, then samsara is like this, so ordinary beings who are attached to substantiality are deceived by their own minds. Attachment to substantiality is completely fabricated by one's own mind, and because the self-nature of things does not exist, the seeing of the suchness of things is obscured, and one perversely imputes things, so one is deceived by one's own mind, and deception is a synonym for delusion. Whoever does not regard the emptiness taught by a virtuous friend as a precipice, and knows that this is the ultimate meaning of all phenomena, that this is the path to the city of Nirvana, and thereby correctly understands that the deceiving mind is deception itself, and does not trust it even for a moment, then these people will surely be regarded as having become noble ones, and those who are skilled in reality say: Phenomena are impermanent, the nature of deception, accumulation and emptiness, selflessness, One should thoroughly understand solitude. Because it arises, it is called a phenomenon, and the sound of phenomenon refers to aggregation. That phenomenon is also momentary.

Because each one has the nature of decay, it is impermanent. If the nature of things is without self-nature, then why do children perceive things as having self-nature? Therefore, like illusions and so on, because they deceive, the things themselves are the nature of deception. Without the power to last long and inherently weak, so accumulate. Because of no self-nature, it is emptiness. Because it is empty of self, it is selflessness. The self-nature of things is described by impermanence and so on. Therefore, seeing things in this way, the wise see them as empty. Empty means emptiness. Thus, because emptiness is consistent, solitary places without birth are called empty. Likewise, here, when a yogi sees things as empty, it means seeing them as emptiness. They do not see things themselves as entities and see them as empty, but see emptiness as emptiness. To show emptiness, the distinctions such as impermanence are mentioned. Or, emptiness is without defilement, like this, ordinary people are reversed, and things that are inherently pure are also defiled by the defilement of their own conceptual thoughts, so they understand it in a reversed way, but the noble ones are not like that, they do not fabricate something out of nothing, but see emptiness as without defilement. Or, if the noble ones arise from that true wisdom and look at things, they express it by seeing it as empty. The noble ones have perfected their deeds, not only do they see it this way, but the teacher also relies on his own wisdom, because he thoroughly understands the Dharma nature with reason, so he cherishes the Dharma nature and arises correctly, when he himself expounds the reason: No place, no object. No root and no dwelling. It arises from an unreasonable cause. Separated from beginning, middle and end. Like a water tree, there is no essence. Like a Gandharva city. The city of ignorance is hateful. Beings appear like illusions. These were said. Relying on this accumulation, it becomes the cause of crops. Like the earth, it acts as a foundation. Because this has no place, it has no place. Because it is to be relied upon, so...
