Because both the object to be refuted and the refuter are not established by their own nature. Therefore, one should not think of conjunction or non-conjunction. As it is said: 'Subhuti, will an arisen dharma obtain the attainment of the unarisen? Or will an unarisen dharma obtain the attainment of the unarisen?' Subhuti said: 'Shariputra, I do not wish for an arisen dharma to obtain the attainment of the unarisen, nor do I wish for an unarisen dharma to obtain the attainment of the unarisen.' Shariputra said: 'Subhuti, is there no attainment and no realization?' Subhuti said: 'Shariputra, there is attainment and there is realization, but not in the manner of two. Shariputra, attainment and realization are in the conventional terms of the world. Stream-enterer, once-returner, non-returner, arhat, solitary buddha, and bodhisattva are also in the conventional terms of the world, but in ultimate truth, there is no attainment and no realization.' This is extensively explained. Here, because of how it would become the fault of two, the attainment of obtaining by arisen or unarisen dharmas is prevented, and also because both are unreasonable for non-things. Just as, without investigation, attainment is promised in the conventional terms of the world, similarly, the object to be refuted and the refuter are neither conjunct nor non-conjunct, but one should know that, conventionally, the refuter refutes the object to be refuted. Furthermore, just as you see the various distinctions that exist on the solar disc, you also see various harms such as Rahu grasping at the image. The forms of the sun and the image, whether conjunct or non-conjunct, although unreasonable, arise merely as conventional terms based on dependence. Even though it is not true, it is for the sake of establishing the beauty of one's own appearance. Just as that exists, similarly here too, one should know that the face of wisdom, the reason that the ability is seen for those to be tamed, even if it is separated from reason, one can understand what is to be established. Because what is called an image does not exist even slightly, therefore, for the solar disc

The realization of being born by meeting or not meeting is impossible in any way. However, just as when an image is targeted due to the proximity of the causal form, the meaning that one wants to realize is determined. By refuting with the refutation of emptiness of self-nature, the refuter and the refuted are refuted, and what is to be established is established by the reason that is empty of self-nature and devoid of reason. It will not become two, so know that one's own words should not be similarly blamed. Wisdom itself is the face, so wisdom is the face. Cultivating it is complete purification by abandoning ignorance. The meaning of "becoming visible to power" is that it is seen as powerful there. Because it is unreasonable to speak of two for those that exist imputedly, therefore, relying on two to refute and answer, the Madhyamika cannot find fault in any way. As Aryadeva said: "Existing, non-existing, and existing-non-existing, for whom there is no side, even for a long time, one cannot utter blame." And similarly: "Having debated with emptiness, whoever answers and states, he has not answered everything, he will become the same as what is to be established." This was said. This also needs to explain the cause of generation in detail. Some say that in this Madhyamika treatise, this is the stage of the cause of generation, not the stage of clarification. The debate of meeting and not meeting is also for the cause of clarification, not for the cause of generation, so there is no opportunity to refute our words. The answer of those who say this is not right, because if one speaks of something with loopholes, the other party is unbearable. Like the cause of generation, there are also loopholes in the clarification, so that kind of answer is unreasonable. Furthermore, because this treatise is to establish the meaning of what has been vowed, it refutes the refutations of the establisher who is fully accepted, so this is only to be refuted by others, therefore, the answer we have made is the most beautiful.
