It is said that the cause of the cessation of suffering arises from giving. Those who, like merchants, desire to obtain a vast accumulation of wealth as a result of giving very little, strive even harder than that, and respectfully desire to give. Even for those who, unlike the sons of the Sugata, do not seek the fruits of giving due to compassion, but only want to increase the joy of giving, by turning away from holding onto the faults of giving and gaining a slight joy from holding onto only the virtues, the suffering of the body, such as unpleasant hunger and thirst, is subdued by means of excellent and complete enjoyment, thus becoming the cause of the cessation of suffering. If someone, devoid of compassion, only relies on wanting to give in order to cure their own suffering, this also: By the occasion of giving, when can one quickly obtain the birth of a noble being? Then, having completely cut off the continuum of existence, the cause of that will go to peace. Thus it is said. Because it is said that in the case of the giver, the giver, it is the path traveled by the holy ones. Particularly liking giving is that by the occasion of giving, one encounters the birth of a noble being, thereby showing that one recognizes that there is no merit in samsara, and by manifesting the stainless path of the noble ones, one abandons the ignorance that ceases suffering. Abandoning the continuum of samsara, the birth and death that pass from one to the next from beginningless time, one completely enters nirvana by means of the Hearer and Solitary Buddha vehicles. Thus, for the time being, the giving of those who are not Bodhisattvas is the cause of obtaining the happiness of samsara and nirvana. Those sentient beings who have vowed to benefit others will quickly obtain joy through giving. Those who are not Bodhisattvas do not necessarily enjoy the fruits of giving as described above at the same time as giving. Therefore, those people may not engage in giving because the fruits of giving are not immediate. Bodhisattvas are at the same time as giving

Having also completely satisfied those who seek, holding supreme joy in the abundant fruit of giving that is manifestly desired, and directly enjoying the fruit of giving. Therefore, at all times, one will be delighted in giving. Therefore, in the manner of what has been said, whatever sentient and non-sentient beings, all manifest highness and definite goodness, the cause is giving. Therefore, the word of giving itself is the root. From that, they will always be respectful of giving. When those who seek are satisfied by means of distributing with enjoyment, what kind of special joy arises for the Bodhisattvas? It should be said, from hearing the sound of "give" and thinking. Like the prince Delight-Born, for those Buddhas, if it is not giving happiness by entering into peace, then what need is there to say anything about abandoning everything? For a moment, when those who seek hear the sound of "give," the Bodhisattvas think that these are begging from me, and thus again and again happiness arises, which is even more excellent than the happiness of Nirvana. What need is there to say about those who abandon external and internal things and satisfy those who seek? And again, from what reason is it said that the Bodhisattvas who abandon external and internal things, do they not also experience physical suffering? It is said, for the great beings, just like cutting inanimate objects, it is impossible for physical suffering to arise. As it is said in the Noble Akashagarbha Samadhi: "For example, there is a great grove of Sala trees, and someone comes there and cuts down one Sala tree. The remaining Sala trees do not think, 'This tree has been cut, we have not been cut.' They have no attachment or anger, no conceptualization or discrimination. The Bodhisattva's patience is like that, it is completely pure patience, like the sky." As it has been said. The Ratnavali also says, to

There is no suffering of the earth, where is the suffering of the mind? It is with compassion that the world suffers, and it is through this that it abides for a long time. Thus it is said. Moreover, for those who have not attained the state of non-attachment, if the body falls into a state contrary to dwelling, the suffering of the body will inevitably arise, and at that time, this will also become the cause for engaging even more actively in the work of benefiting sentient beings. As it is said: Cutting off the body and giving it away, with my own suffering, seeing the suffering of hell and so on of other beings as my own, for the sake of cutting off those sufferings, I will quickly exert effort. Thus it is said. The Bodhisattva, for suffering sentient beings, fallen into the evil realms of hell, the animal realm, the realm of Yama, and so on, suffering intensely without interruption, the body being destroyed, the suffering of cutting off one's own body, even a thousandfold greater than that, unbearable suffering, seeing their suffering as one's own, disregarding the suffering of cutting off one's own body, in order to cut off the suffering of hell and so on of sentient beings, quickly exerts effort. In order to explain the classification of the perfection of giving as described above, it is said: Giving, the object of giving, the recipient, and the giver are all empty, it is the transcendent perfection. Thus it is said. The so-called "other shore" is the other shore and edge of the ocean of samsara, it is the Buddha who possesses the nature of abandoning all afflictions and cognitive obscurations. Reaching the other shore is reaching the other shore (perfection). According to the definition of "if the latter word exists, it should not be omitted," because the classification of karma is not omitted, it becomes embodied, or becomes preṣodara and so on, therefore it is placed in the category of the latter. This is grasping wisdom and explaining it separately, giving and so on are similar to perfection, therefore it is perfection. Through the difference of complete dedication, determining to go to the other shore, giving can obtain the name of perfection. Next, the precepts and so on will be explained.
