It is the very first cause of the cause of all omniscience. Even giving one's own flesh, doing it with respect, also becomes the cause of inconceivable inference. At that time, the qualities of that Bodhisattva, because they are not obvious, so what are the realizations and so on, those are also clearly inferred from the inference following the difference of the emptiness of the nature of external and internal things, just like inferring fire etc. from smoke etc. Just as the giving of Bodhisattvas is the very first cause of becoming a Buddha, and the definite sign of non-obvious qualities. For ordinary people, hearers, and solitary Buddhas, it is also in order to show that the superficial treatment of suffering and the cause of obtaining permanent happiness, so it is said: All these beings desire manifest happiness, the happiness of people is not without enjoyment, enjoyment also arises from giving, knowing this, the capable one first spoke of giving. After saying this, for the remedies of hunger, thirst, disease, and cold etc., merely the superficial treatment of suffering, it is considered the cause of the happiness of existence, merely with inverted bondage, one clings to the continuum of self-nature, because eliminating nearby harm is not the nature of happiness, so the world is very attached to this. Like that, the happiness that one wants to manifest, its happiness is merely the nature of the superficial treatment of suffering, that is, the object of enjoyment that one wants to manifest, becomes the remedy for suffering, without inverted nature, without enjoyment, it will not arise. It is also known that those objects that become the cause of the superficial treatment of suffering, for those who have not accumulated the object of merit arising from giving, they will not arise. Therefore, the Blessed One, knowing the nature of the minds of all beings, first spoke of the words of giving, rather than speaking of discipline etc. Now, even if the sentient beings of emptiness do not conform to reason, but in order to conform to their own actions, the great nature of giving must be spoken of, for sentient beings with low compassion and very harshness, and those who only become single-mindedly concerned with their own interests, their desired enjoyments etc.
