And it is fully clarified through the example of constantly entering into the arising of qualities and the exhaustion of faults. This Bodhisattva, even though abiding in the first view of perfect Bodhicitta, surpasses all the Pratyekabuddhas, including the Shravakas, due to the increase of the power of merit. This is another distinction. As it is said in the liberation of the noble Maitreya: 'Son of lineage, just as a king's son, not long after birth, possessing the name of a king, all the ministers, with the elders as their leaders, are also subdued by the power of the great nature of the lineage. Similarly, a Bodhisattva who is a beginner, not long after generating the mind of Bodhi, also subdues the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who have long practiced celibacy, due to the power of Bodhicitta and compassion, having been born into the lineage of the Tathagata Dharma King. Son of lineage, just as the offspring of the great Garuda, not long after birth, the power of the wind of the wings and the quality of the eyes being completely pure, are not possessed by all the other flocks of birds that have become old. Similarly, a Bodhisattva who first generates the mind of Bodhi, the son of the great Garuda who truly appears in the lineage of the Tathagata Garuda, subdues others with the power of the wings of generating the mind of omniscience, and the quality of the eyes of completely purifying the superior intention, is not possessed by all the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas who are destined to appear in hundreds of thousands of kalpas.' And so on. That is because with the passage of time, wisdom also becomes more superior. The Noble Ten Bhumi Sutra also says: 'O sons of the Victorious Ones, just as a king's son born into the lineage of a king, possessing the name of a king, merely by being born, subdues all the ministers with the blessing of the king, not by discriminating with the power of his own wisdom. When he grows up, he will generate the power of his own wisdom.'

Therefore, it far surpasses all the actions of ministers. O sons of the Conqueror, likewise, the Bodhisattva, immediately upon generating the mind of enlightenment, overcomes all Hearers and Solitary Buddhas by the greatness of superior intention, but not by discriminating with the power of his own intellect. As it is said in the sutra: "The Bodhisattva who abides on the seventh Bodhisattva ground, abiding in the greatness of knowing his own realm, therefore far surpasses all the actions of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas." Therefore, if that is the case, then it should be known that only from a long time onward will the Bodhisattva, by developing the power of his own intellect, overcome the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, but not on the lower grounds. From this scripture, it is clearly ascertained that Hearers and Solitary Buddhas also have the wisdom of knowing that all phenomena are without inherent existence. If it were not so, then like those who are free from worldly desire, they would also be overcome by the Bodhisattva who has generated the first mind, by discriminating with his own intellect, and like the non-Buddhists, they would also not abandon all the subtle afflictions that are practiced in the three realms. Because they are inverted by clinging to their own nature, such as form, they will also not realize the selflessness of persons, because they cling to the aggregates, which are the basis for imputation of self. As it is said in the Ratnavali: As long as there is clinging to the aggregates, So long there is clinging to self. If there is clinging to self, then there is karma, From that again there is birth. The three paths without beginning, end, or middle, The circle of samsara is like a wheel of fire, This mutually caused cycle becomes samsara. Because it is not obtained in either self or other, And also not in the three times, Therefore, clinging to self will be exhausted. After that, karma and birth. Again, just as the eye perceives a wheel of fire due to illusion, Likewise, the senses perceive such objects. The senses and the sense objects, Are considered to be the nature of the five elements. Each of the elements
